Lately, I’ve been loving alternate forms of artwork…like small mirrors, ethnic plaques, and other small bits that look great on a wall alongside traditional flat pieces of work. These butterfly shadow boxes from Anthropologie are perfectly fitting for my new found interest…

I love this belongings! So romantic…
And I love you blog too.

wow, beautiful !!! Why don’t we have Anthropologie in France ???????
These are perfect! I also love the gold with the aqua background – very pretty combo. Butterflies just complete it!
very beautiful!! I love when unusual things are paired together and just work!! Great find – gotta love anthropologie! 🙂
I love those, too. You know, I am kicking myself over this – I had some butterfly shadowboxes that a relative had given me a long time ago, and I threw them away somewhere in between moves. When I saw these on the Anthropologie website, I immediately thought of my old butterflies. They really are lovely.
it’s a bit morbid to think of how this is done. they must catch hundreds of butterflies and etherize them (?) i know that’s how they used to do it anyway. makes me think it’s better to find an old ebay shadowbox of one that’s been dead since the 70’s…
