Lately I've been fascinated with how retail interiors reflect their products. I love the shop interior of the Australia-based beauty line, Aesop, designed by Studioilse…
I swear I just pasted a swatch of this very same color into my sketchbook. Ooh and that black spiral stair case against it looks so dramatic and elegant!
They’re great. The Melboure store’s interior is clever. I asked to take a photo, from the exterior, of the window display, and was told NO. NO. NO. NO. I was told the store had a policy re control of images. Yadda Yadda. Honestly.
Gorgeous! I’m especially taken with the image on the top right; the glass lights with candles inside look cleverly like bubbles that have floated off the top of the water-filled sink below.

YAY! more posts about store interiors, please! I’m opening Makool here in Portland, and I wish there was a gallery of shop interiors I could flip through for inspiration!
thanks

Aesop is a beautiful company.
My dear friends uncle is the creator and founder, and I am told that he is very hands on and detailed with every aspect of the business including design + aesthetic.
I am realising just how important it is to be clear about your vision and then particular about it’s implementation.
Oh! I’ve always loved this shop interior. It reminds me of this Aesop interior just posted yesterday on Yatzer which is SO great!

Nice one. reminds me of the antiquated beautiful ruggedness of Le Labo in NYC.
the mirrored dresser/cabinet is dreamy
This is a great example of how anything can look stylish with a nice pop of color – even a very functional, industrial space.
these guys make some of my favourite products. so fresh and clean.
ooooh!! so pretty. SO pretty.
