fish tacos on wheels in {san diego}…

When moving to San Diego recently, everyone talked about the infamous "fish taco" that you have to get in San Diego. With our proximity to Mexico, the fish tacos here are certainly the best I've had outside of Mexico. My new favorite fish taco comes from the streets of San Diego at Marisco's German Taco Truck in City Heights. Marisco's offers authentic, non-pretentious street food tacos that make me happy to be eating in a cement parking lot. The seating is no frills and is made up of a couple plastic tables and chairs under a tent. But each fish taco is only $1.00, so a meal for two {including 4 tacos, 2
soups, and 2 sodas} runs $7.00!

Final thoughts…4 out of 5 happy ladies for quick, cheap, fresh fish tacos. I wish the tortillas were more fresh-off-the-skillet, but otherwise it's a cheap thrill not to be missed. There are a bunch of trucks from the Marisco family
throughout the city, so if you're local, you don't have to go far to find one.

  1. Ok, call me low brow but I totally love Rubio’s Fish Taco Especial. But if this can beat it I’m a convert for life! Apparently I need to get myself to City Heights. 🙂

  2. Yes! this is our favorite secret place for fish tacos! “the taco truck” as we lovingly refer to it as! This place rocks!

  3. Darn it! I really really wish I’d seen this post and the cupcakes in La Jolla post befor I went to San Diego three weeks ago.
