Recently, I've really been loving furniture that looks and feels like it was made by hand. As much as I love modern pieces too, there's something so comforting about a piece that seems built, reworked, or crafted with care over time. Colonel is a small furniture company in Paris that searches, selects and brings existing furniture to a new life. They also design their own collection, in collaboration with specialized craftsmen and small wood factories.

Loving the blue on that chair! I’m a sucker for wooden furniture with a little color.
Forget the furniture….I love the point of view for the mural!!
The site’s Archives section contains some aweome chairs as well. Love the interior pics by the way (that mural!) – do you think that’s their Paris HQ?
Lovely! The painted blue spindles are perfect.
That mural is mouth-watering jungalicious!
That chairs won’t last for sure..
I’m sure that chairs will last, because they do since a long time …
I love their work!!!

Love all these! The blue touch on that chair just takes it to a whole new level.
I think it would be great to infuse some of these vintagey, worn pieces in with some sharp-lined modern furnishings to create a nice contrast of materials and shapes, an eclectic ambiance so-to-speak. Perhaps a scouting mission to Paris is in order, not like you need an excuse to head to one of the design capitals of the world though.
