I love shops that combine a little bit of everything. Inspired by the charming street in Manhattan {and where I lived for a summer!}, Broome St. General Store in opened in Silver Lake just a couple weeks ago and offers a mix of gourmet food, well-curated groceries, home decor, and vintage bits and bobs. It's beautiful, cozy, and feels like a modern update to the corner store where neighbors come by regularly to catch up. Still in their soft opening, edibles include sweets and pastries from Valerie and Cake Monkey. With more lunch options coming soon, it's a new neighborhood spot I'm imagining frequenting often… — Joy

Love a good general store! Especially if you can get old fashioned treats like frozen icy drinks and candy. When I was a kid growing up in the south I rode my bike to one every day during summer. The best!
this place looks lovely. i bet i could spend hours looking at all the little trinkets and gourmet food!
I spent all Sunday afternoon here sitting outside, enjoying a long cup of coffee. Such a great vibe, staff and well-curated shop!
My local general store just updated its look and is now very similar & cozy…..I love when vintage and modern mesh well 🙂
I want to be there now.
I am SUCH a fan of this place. I love the old world charm and the new world technology of an iPad register station where they email you your receipt! Love, Love, Love.
Lovely photos. mmmm turkish taffy.i grew up on it 😀 it was the best. Although we call it Turkish Honey in Slovakia, and here in Australia it’s called Turkish Delight.
And when done, there are so many other goodies on that street to explore. And then you can work off all the yummy food with a stroll around the reservoir. It’s one of my fave hoods in town. Glad you’ve discovered it too!
Such a lovely, charming store. A wonderful way to pass the time I bet.
