who: Emily Anderson, Photographer
why emily rocks: Emily is one of my favorite interior photographers. I have worked closely with her on Rue Magazine, and the way she captures natural light in a room has always fascinated me.
in her closet: I'm a bit of a minimalist in the closet department. I only really shop twice a year {spring and fall} so pieces like this silk shirt I picked up at Madewell {similar here and here} are my idea perfection with its classic texture and geometric lines. I wore it all winter with jeans, and this spring I've been pairing it with some slouchy linen silk pants and broken in greek sandals for a breezy hair-down-about-town kind of look.
in her casa: These salvaged wooden "faceted rocks" from Kindling {a project of Aaron Pahmier} are one of my favorites in a group of black and white objects we've slowly been collecting. I'm captivated by their rigorous lines and exposed edges—it's almost impossible not to play with them. I especially love discovering them stacked into a new sculpture after we've had a party!
Thanks Emily!

I am obsessing over those wooden faceted rocks and so sad to see they are not available in the artist’s shop currently! Love them.

Her house! That paneling! ahhh. So beautiful. Quick question, though – just where does that rope lead to? Regardless, it’s very cool : )
Maybe the rope, is a feature in the property to make your eyes look at, or it could be the complete opposite
The side table and lamp combination is so chic! Where are both these items from? I just moved to a bigger place and am in the market for such gorgeous pieces!
Oh so pretty!
Whitney, the table is thrifted, and the lamp is from cb2. A lovely being — the rope is the hanging end of the rope “curtain rod” I strung across the windows. I planned to cut the end short, but ended up kind of liking it.
I really adore the room design and the table lamp. They are gorgeous!
