The other night, Bob and I attended Plate by Plate, a charity event put together by an amazing group of volunteers and restaurants to benefit AYC Youth & Family Services, a community organization that serves the social service needs of low-income and at-risk youth & families within the Los Angeles area. In addition to the worthy cause, one of my favorite things {in the world} just might be sampling lots of small bites of dishes. There was no shortage of great food at the event, and I had to share a few of my favorites with you…the watermelon cubes from Anahita, Pandan doughnuts from Starry Kitchen, Thai sausage from Night+Market, and the Szechuan chocolates from Ciel Chocolatier {not shown}. If you're in SF or NY, there's a Plate by Plate tasting event coming soon near you! — Joy

OK i love your blog Joy and am always following you but you make me so hungry with the wonderful food photography 🙂 Sounds like a great event!
What a neat event, love the small plates. Now my mouth is watering;)
Your pics are beautiful. I can almost taste them!
yum yum! these all look amazing!
Wow! Looks amazing! You and Bob should try out Musha in Santa Monica some time. It’s delicious and the chefs there have become friends of my husband and mine.

JOY! As soon as I saw the doughnut hole with the green Pandan sauce I thought…that’s so funny, that looks just like my brother’s restaurant’s most recent dessert creation. You could imagine my delight when I realized it was certainly from Starry Kitchen! I’m so, so glad you finally had the chance to try some of their goodies. I was just in LA and had the chance to try the doughnuts myself and I loved them. I hope you enjoyed them as well! If you get a chance to visit SK I hope you get to try their kimchi rice cakes!
Oh my! Just… YUM.
Cute little sliders, it’s all making me SO hungry!
what an amazing night, non? sorry i missed you there!
Wow the food looks so good… the pictures are real nice.
Everything looks so tasty! I used to volunteer for AYC when I was in in high school, so cool to see what interesting things they’re up to.
