happy friday + mama’s girl…

Sometimes I complain when she won't let me out of her sight, when she gets upset that I have to go somewhere without her, or when she's being extra clingy. But let's be honestโ€”I actually really love it. Because I know it won't be like this forever. One day she'll be a teenager, and she'll be embarrassed to be seen with me at the mall.

Wishing you a great weekend, friends, to enjoy those wonderful, fleeting moments that life brings…

{Photos by Bob Cho. For those of you who asked, my boots are from Loeffler Randall, Ruby's neon shoes are from Brother, and her striped leggings are by Nature Baby (similar from Gap).}

  1. So gorgeous baby girl!
They are awesome! Lets hug them and play with them and be patient when they are upset.
Enjoy your weekend, I’ll be doing it too ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Amen! My lil man is 2 weeks younger than Ruby and as much as it breaks my heart for Daddy that he only wants me right now…. I absolutely love it because you are exactly right, it won’t last! Happy weekend!

  3. Aww I can tell you’re going to dread the day she chooses to be embarrassed by you. Looks like you’re enjoying her love now though. She’s growing up so fast, and shes so adorable.

  4. oh man, it’s so true. My daughter is 15 months and gets like that too. Sometimes it makes getting dinner ready hard, but I mostly love it. I am constantly amazed how FAST they grow, please slow down!!!
And that Ruby has the sweetest little smile ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. it just goes too fast doesn’t it? i blinked and atty is 13 months, such a boy and not a baby in the least. i’m trying to mentally capture those extra hugs and snuggles.

  6. How lovely!
Are you expecting again? The second to last picture shows a little baby bump ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. So cute! My 14 month old daughter and Ruby are sartorial twins. I kind of have a problem with buying striped and polka dot things. My daughter has the same (I think) herringbone Toms.
Also, I decided today that I am not a fan of kid’s consignment stores here in LA. I have been to Grow Kid Grow and The Green Bean multiple times and leave empty-handed. I wish I could find fashion-conscious moms who would be willing to do clothing-swaps or have online garage sales or something!

  8. such a sweet post! i always remind myself to enjoy this stage when my daughter is being extra clingy too. all they want is constant attention and tons of love…who can blame them?!
    have a great weekend!

  9. i can see how that could be annoying, but it’s awesome to have the realization that they will only be small for a little bit! your sweet babe looks like a fun lover ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. My little girl is the same way and as much as I pull my hair out looking for some alone time, I love spending time with her wayyyy more! Ruby is adorable and I hope you have a great weekend.

  11. Oh my god, that one with the sombrero is killing me! SO CUTE. Seriously, can’t wait to finish writing this comment so I can scroll back up there and laugh and coo some more. (if my boyfriend asks, I’m watching kittens on youtube. Be cool guys.)

  12. Very sweet! Important to savor every moment. Where are your navy polka-dotted pants from? I love them!

  13. She it sweetest…and it does go. So quick. As a mother of two teenagers I think I am suffering from whip-lash. Have a beautiful weekend!

  14. I’m positive, you’ll be that cool kind of mom that she will pretend to be slightly embarrassed of, but of which she will actually be proud! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Oh, my gosh…love your polka dot leggings (3rd pic). Can you tell me where you got them.
    Thx!! Love your blog!!

  16. I was wondering if you find the Brother Vellies comfy? I really love them, but because of the price, I want to make sure they’re comfy before investing!!!

  17. oops..i totally didn’t mean to post my sorry is there any way to take that down..hahaha
