Last week, I wore this Marimekko dress when we shot the "after" photos of my studio space (which I'll be sharing here soon). It was just one dress, but I felt so confident in it. It made me think about how great statement pieces are, and it also made me want to add a few more to my closet.
Or what about those girls that always wear a statement piece every day? Maybe it's an amazing pair of glasses, a gorgeous shade of lipstick, a signature accessory, or a hairstyle that no one else can beat. There's a mix of making a statement without being over the top that just really does it for me…
Do you have a statement piece you rock daily or even every so often?

i really like statement jewelry it’s easy and it finishes an outfit.
I’m wearing some of my favorite earrings today.. they always add a little something extra to an outfit 🙂
Statement pieces always remind me of Confessions of a Shopaholic when Becky Bloomwood is “the girl with the green scarf.” I always wanted to be “the girl with the … whatever” after that, haha!
Love statement pieces (duh!) and love your diverse selection of pretty ladies here!
Love the idea of statement pieces! I recently wore a great necklace to the Femme and Fortune launch party and the guests loved it! Too bad it was borrowed from a friend so I can’t wear it as often I’d like. But now I’m thinking that some pieces are definitely worth investing in to give you that little something extra to feel special.
P.S. Can’t wait to see your new studio! I wish I could’ve gone to see it in person 🙂
I’ve been building up a collection of statement necklaces. Mostly bought from my trips to Thailand. I love that one piece of jewelry can change the entire feel of my jeans-and-t-shirt look!
My hair is a crazy shade of purple and blue – definitely my signature! And I LOVE that dress!
I got a few great pieces at the Nordstrom’s sale yesterday here:

My fav is the hot pink gown!
I think it’s important to always have one thing that is a standout. Whether it be a big accessory, a bold pattern, or a bold lip. If we really love that thing, we exude confidence and that is what really catches people’s attention!
I adore rocking a red lip: http://instagram.com/p/cXROE5oMYe/
I’m a “purse girl,” and I’ve become known for the vintage Pan Am bag I purchased on my honeymoon at a killer deal. I get compliments on it everywhere I go.
I think my attitude is my statement. I do not wear statement pieces much on daily basis. Great post dear.
Cheers,
Janaki

Agreed, I am a huge fan of statement pieces. I think they can make or break the look, but when done right they can create something unforgettable. Love bulky, statement necklaces, over-poofed ponytails, and bright or boldly patterned clutches. Great post!
I have a striking neon Cos dress. Minimalistic yet such a statement piece at the same time. Its my go-to dress any time I need to feel confident yet true to myself. Ann x

It’s most definitely the funky scarves I wear. They transform my outfits and I am always on the lookout for weird ones. They sort of define me. My fav: B&W striped scarf. Right now I am wearing a pink leopard one.

my rayban “cats 1000” are as statement as I get. I love em!
I love the photo 1 & 3. The dramatic silhouette looks incredible. I love pairing a simple jeans and white or black blouse with statement heels!

this is so weird I did a post on statement jewellery a couple of days back after getting my hands on an amazing necklace! Much prefer one simple piece rather than an overload of jewellery

My statement piece are my nails. I rarely (if ever) go out without a fresh coat of polish in a bright color. Lately I’m loving “The Girls are Out” by Essie.

Two things: a bold cat eye and a killer heel (skin tight jeans don’t hurt either). 😉
My statement fashion items are a Rocawear cassette necklace I purchased a few years back and dark wash skinny jeans.
Signature makeup looks I wear are smoky eyes and a red lip.
What beautiful photographs! Couldn’t agree more. I tend to go for a ‘subtle’ statement (oxymoron right? haha) but i like wearing a chunky pair of earrings that stand out.
I love any conversation about personal and creative style! I am a scarf girl! I own vintage, silk, cotton, wool, cashmere scarves. You name I have purchased it at some point. My very favorite is a Pringles of London cashmere and silk wrap in soft blue. It’s huge and I have owned and worn it for over 10 years! I refer to it as my Linus blanket!

I love the transformative power of jewelry which may be why I’m obsessed with making it. When I need to add a powerful pop, I’ll slip on a bold armor ring like one of the black and gold beauties in my newest collection. Bam! And never underestimate the power of a good lip color like the last image. Love me some lippy.
Cheers,
