Pine & Crane is my newest go-to spot. I've been there four times in the last ten days. It's a casual, quick, and super tasty Taiwanese-Chinese restaurant in Silver Lake. I almost don't want to tell you about it in fear that it will get too busy, but you guys know I want you to eat well, too 😉
Most of the produce is sourced from the owner's family farm, so everything is super fresh and local. Some of my favorites include the spicy shrimp wontons, the trumpet mushrooms, and the scallion pancake. Oh, they also have boba milk tea which is a rare find in Silver Lake!
And by the way, it's super kid-friendly. I've gone with Ruby every time I've been there and our crew of friends that consists of both toddlers and tiny babies. Pine and Crane just feels like a spot you can just show up to and get an authentic and delicious Chinese meal.

Looks absolutely delicious, and if there are cuties like Ruby around, I’m in!
Ahhh, that first pic of Ruby is priceless! And I can’t wait to try this restaurant the next time I’m in LA.
The scallion pancakes look really good! I must try.
Love the picture of Ruby. She looks so excited.
Thank you so much for the post and support. That picture of Ruby by our soft-opening sign is priceless!! Cheers! -P&C team
who’s the cute redhead in the background??!
This is right near me – I will have to check it out!
Going to LA/Anaheim next month and will have to try it out!
My goodness, you have the best quick eating places around you!!
Thank you for always sharing your favorite spots!!
This place is beautiful and looks like it has amazing food as well! Great photos!
My neighborhood! Can’t wait!
I totally agree! Ruby looks sooooo cute in that first photo! She reminds me of Max in “Where the Wild Things Are!”
Ahhh definitely will check this place out! Especially since you mentioned that it’s kid friendly…hopefully it’s 9month old baby-friendly too, hah! 😀
It totally is! 😉
yummo! looks delish, joy!
Do you know the source for those great pendant lamps! They are exactly what I’ve been looking for.
Looks delish especially the scallion pancake – those are the best! Thanks for sharing!
First, Ruby is precious. I was wondering whether you’d ever grappled with making her image so public. I’ve been wanting to include some images of my kids of my blog but I feel uncomfortable having their pictures “out there.”
Also, do you ever hesitate about being so open about the places you take her on a regular basis? I guess this is my over-protective, overly paranoid mommy side coming out!
Thanks for your note and for your question. I think its totally a personal choice how much you share. Some bloggers choose to keep their family and personal life totally private and some share lots of moments from their everyday life. I know that I connect with blogs more when I feel like I get to see some of their real life. For me, I feel comfortable sharing it in moderation. My husband and I have agreed to certain things we will and we will not share, and it comes down to whats comfortable for our family. For example, I would never share where Ruby goes to school or anything having to do with our childcare as thats private to me. But I am okay sharing parts of our life and things we do that I think other people would enjoy themselves.
Thanks for the support, Joy! Ruby is the best P&C model ever 🙂
Oh my this food looks so good!!! And love the interior design too.
