Dressing the Bump / Fall Outfits

Alright guys, this is my last pre-baby episode of Dressing the Bump! We're at 36 weeks and talking about how to layer for fall with blazers, jackets, sweater dresses, and long-sleeve rompers.

These videos have been really fun to make for you, and it's also challenged me to really celebrate that bump while pregnant. I hope you'll share this series with your sisters, friends, and co-workers who are expecting! I have one last post-baby bump video coming after our little lady arrives and will cover that "post-baby bump" as well as some great pieces to wear while nursing.

You can find all sources for the clothing worn in this video below…

*Please keep in mind that all bellies are shaped and sized differently and grow at different rates. I hope you'll find these videos helpful at some stage of your pregnancy.

  1. Joy love the series. And when you held the letter “C” with that smirk on your face, i thought it was a hint for a name maybe?

  2. Adorable! I wish it would cool off a bit more here in LA so we could really take advantage of Fall. Congrats on your little one. I am a few weeks behind you 😉

  3. So adorable! And so well done, as always. I have a question. Did you hold up the “c” as a nod to your last name, or a hint to your new little girl’s name? 🙂 Or, I could be overanalyzing, but I know us detailed folks rarely do something like that randomly.

  4. I adore the chambray jumpsuit! Perfect for before and after baby. And how cute is Ruby in the Kate Spade x babyGap shades?! I’m excited to see how stylish the next Cho cutie will be 🙂

  5. I’ve loved watching your dress-the-bump videos and wanted to thank you and wish you luck with your second little lady. We’re expecting our first (a little boy) in February and I have benefited so much from the research you’ve done. Lots of love!

  6. Cute outfits – the layered looks are great!
Question – I had to pee all the time at the end of my pregnancy. How would you work that out with a romper? Is there some hidden zipper that no one would be the wiser to?
    Thanks!

  7. These videos are so great! I love all of your shoe choices. My feet have been swollen for a few months now and I wear 1 shoe size bigger :(. I’m trying to avoid buying too many new shoes in hopes that my feet return to their pre-pregnancy size, but a pair of fall booties might be a must do!

  8. Can’t wait for post baby and nursing style tips! Struggling here as a new mom… Wishing you a healthy and smooth delivery!

  9. Thanks Joy! I’ve enjoyed the series as we are also expecting a little girl this coming winter, in fact we used oh joy target for our baby announcement! I was wondering for the anthropology romper, did you have to go a up a size to fit your belly, or did you wear your normal size? Was thinking of ordering it to wear for our baby shower 😉

  10. Hi Karen,
Thanks so much! Congrats on your baby to be!
I wore my normal size. Normally rompers are worn sort of blouse-y so that allows room for the belly in your regular size.
    Hope that helps!
    Joy

  11. I love the outfits though I’m not currently pregnant. I do have a little one and can’t wait to hear from you in the future about what to wear for kids. They grow up so quickly and they outgrow clothing extremely fast. Anyway, I did have a question about outfit#1. Where did you get the booties? I love them.

  12. Joy you are amazing and now that I am joying the New Mum club (week 35) I absolutely love all your posts about Motherhood. I am sharing your blog with all the Mums out there.
