happy friday + halfway to one year…

Oh Joy / Coco - 6 months

Oh Joy / Coco - 6 months

You guys! Our little Coco hit the halfway mark earlier this week. How has it been 6 months already?  It's exciting but also bittersweet as I'm already starting to miss having a tiny wee baby. But it's getting way more fun as she laughs, smiles, rolls around, and interacts with us more and more everyday.

Oh Joy / Coco's Monthly Photo

This is the stage of having a baby that starts to get really fun, and it feels like she's starting to become the little person that's been waiting to come out!

Oh Joy / Ruby and Coco

The girls started sharing a room a couple weeks ago. It hasn't been perfect, but Ruby is slowly (but surely) working on sharing her room (and her parents) with her little sister.

Hope you guys have a great weekend! See you back here on Monday!

  1. So adorable. Love the outfits. What are you planning on doing with their old clothes? Will you be having some clothing sales? Would love to purchase some.

  2. It is amazing how quickly they grow. They are both such beauties– you can already start to see the young woman that Ruby will one day become.
I am interested to hear more details about how you transitioned Coco into Ruby’s room. I have two boys, 3 1/2 and 6 weeks old, and am planning on doing the same with them. (i mentioned this briefly when we chatted at Jenis a few weeks ago)
Thank you so much for sharing!

  3. Hey Sofia!
    Hope you’re well!
Once Coco was sleeping through the night, we waited till she did that consistently for about a month (Of course babies go through regression with teething and colds and stuff, but I wanted to make sure that we were going into it with two solid sleepers). And then, we just moved her in. There had been a crib in there since Ruby moved out of her crib so Ruby’s room didn’t change at all, it was just a matter of putting Coco in. We talked to Ruby about it in the weeks leading up to it. She said a lot of times “I don’t want Coco in my room” but we kept reminding her how it was both of their room and she was going to protect Coco at night and that really seemed to help. We also told her that we had to give the crib that Coco was sleeping in (in the office) to another baby that needs a place to sleep (all true). And then once we started, the trickiest thing was the timing with the whole bath/bed routine and nursing Coco since that takes longer than Ruby’s normal routine. So we tried a few things and now have Coco start a little earlier and then by the time I am nursing Coco before bed, Ruby is out of the bath and my husband is getting her dressed and reading her a book etc. So they mostly go to bed at the same time now. Ruby does wake but a bit earlier than Coco, so we’ve had to just pull her out of her room once she’s awake so she doesn’t wake up the baby (before we would have made her wait a little longer). So it’s a little tricky right now but I think it will be great for them in the long run. And great for us to have our office back!

  4. Aww…both your girls are adorable!!
Coco seems to look more like Bob while Ruby is your mini-me!
My little girl Melody is 15 months old and such a ball of energy. My hubby and I are thinking of another baby so she’ll have a sibling to play and grow up together with. Just like Ruby and Coco 🙂

  5. I am so jealous to hear that Coco is sleeping through! My son is 5.5 months old and had been sleeping through until he hit 4 months, and it’s been a disaster since. Our intention was to have our kiddos share a room, but the babe is in the den still. Did you guys do some sleep training with Coco? No judgement here, we will soon with our son, I’m just curious!

  6. Can you show photos of their shared room and more details on that? I read your reply above…very helpful as well. But very interested to hear more.
