Red is a color that I have always had weird feelings about. While I love a good red lipstick, I have never been able to fully immerse myself with red! So with this month being full of red (with Valentine's Day) and our Color Adventures series happening, my team thought it was the perfect chance to convince me how great red can be. So this month, you'll see how we combine red and blush within home decor, fashion, and tabletop!
Today, we're starting with inspiration for a Valentine's Day brunch for your friends, family, or anyone that you like enough to have over for a meal. Here are a few tips for making a fun and festive seating area for Valentine's Day brunch…
1. Create a backdrop. Nothing makes a gathering feel more festive then a fun backdrop in an everyday space. We made this simple hanging honeycomb backdrop by attaching a bunch of paper honeycombs to string and draping them over a clothing rack. It offers an instant dose of fun to set the mood for your brunch!
2. Add plants to the table. While flowers are always great, here's a chance to bring some of your everyday house plants to the table so you don't have to spend a ton on fresh flowers. We added smaller plants that we already had and made them a tad more festive with colorful stir sticks and mini honeycombs attached to bamboo skewers.
3. Set the table mixed with patterns and solids. Since red and blush were our key colors, that served as a base for the table. But you can also mix in other complementary colors like shades of pink and neutrals like white, grey, and gold. For this table, the patterns came from the runner and napkins while we kept all the main plates in solid shades.
Even though these photos are specific to Valentine's Day, you can apply these tips to any table setting for any size gathering any time of year!
