Fun Meal Ideas for Picky Eaters!

Getting kids to eat at mealtime can be difficult, especially when you want them to try new things. They have never tried “Fontina” cheese before, but they know they don’t like it! I’ve found that by changing the preparation and presentation of meals, I have a better chance of getting little ones excited about mealtime. Today, we’ve partnered with Arla Cheese to share three easy meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for those babes in your life! Arla is a farm-to-fridge dairy, so the fresh milk for their naturally delicious cream cheese comes directly from farms owned by Arla’s proud farmers, and you can definitely taste the difference. Take a look…

Breakfast Sandwich Kabobs — Mix up breakfast using the same items you might normally serve, but by cutting the pieces up and placing them on a kabob. It makes eating extra fun! For this breakfast sandwich kabob, we paired cubes of mini bagels, Arla strawberry cream cheese, grapes, and strawberries for a fruity and delicious start to the day.

Lunch Bento Box — A bento box-inspired meal is my go-to for my kids for both packed school lunch and lunch at home. It gives them a few different things to eat and mix-and-match together based on their favorite things. Here we’ve made sure to mix in protein using sliced turkey, a hard-boiled egg, and Arla Herbs & Spices cream cheese, which is free from artificial flavors and preservatives. Then, it’s topped off with a medley of fresh fruit and veggies. To make a bento box, you don’t need a special container – it’s simply about putting different things in small containers. For school, you can use silicone cupcake liners. But when staying in, make use of what you already have at home.

Dinner Casserole in a Jar — Layered like a parfait, these mini casseroles in a jar make eating your dinner extra fun! Each kid gets an individual jar that holds their entire meal. Layer mac-n-cheese (made with Arla Cheddar cheese and Original cream cheese), a layer of grilled chicken, and a layer of roasted veggies to cover all the food groups. Arla’s Original cream cheese is made from only four simple ingredients that you can recognize: cream, milk, salt and cheese culture, so you can feel good about feeding it to the whole family.

These meals are so simple, yet so fun, they are guaranteed to get eaten up in minutes (even by grown-ups)!
