Three Cozy Looks / Oh Joy

When you live in a city that never sees real winter, I often underestimate winter accessories and the fact that they actually are so very useful even for our version of "winter". I used to LIVE in scarves when I lived on the East Coast, and I'm embracing them again as a companion to my fall wardrobe. Today, I've partnered with FabFitFun to share a few of my favorite transitional looks that get an extra dose of cozy with this Mer-Sea & Co. scarf and treStique lip crayon in Tuscan Wine from their fall box…

Three Cozy Looks / Oh Joy

1. Casual Comfort with the loop — "The loop" is what I like to call it when you fold your scarf in half and then pull the ends of the scarf through the loop it creates. It's the best way to wear a scarf when you want to keep it in place. This is a casual and easy transitional look that may appear to just be jeans and a tee, but spruced up a bit with embellished jeans and a ribbed sweater tee that's a bit more flattering than a boxy sweater. Topped off with fun sneakers and a cozy scarf, I'm ready to be out and about on a crisp and cool day.

2. Office Chic with the wrap — Here, I took my favorite vintage mint green pants and added a button down shirt for a dressier office look. By tying the shirt at the waist, it feels a bit more feminine while adding some shape to the waist. I added warmth with the scarf wrapped around once and with ends hanging down to flatter a button down's center seam.

3. Dressy with the shawl — I wear maxi skirts ALL THE TIME. As the temperatures drop, I'm added booties and a long sleeve tee to my summery skirt. I love using a cozy scarf like this wrapped as a shawl to add another layer of warmth without needing a full-on jacket or coat.

And I'm all about that one piece that goes a long way!
