Dressing the Team // Rainbow / via Oh Joy!

Today, we have a super colorful Oh Joy! Dressing The Team! This time around, we each picked a color of the rainbow and dressed head-to-toe in one color. Dressing monochromatically can sometimes be a little tricky, but wanted to show you how to cover your bases with any color you choose. Take a look…

How to Wear Red on Red / Oh Joy!

Courtney, my Executive Assistant, picked red because she loves wearing red lipstick! She says, "It's a fun and very bold color that compliments lots of skin tones—including very fair like mine. Finding something solid red is fairly easy, but I chose this piece because I thought the draping of the material was very flattering on my figure." In this case, Courtney's red dress and flats match exactly, and her earrings in shades of red add contrast and texture.

Courtney is wearing Target shoes, an H&M Dress, and tassel earrings (similar).

How to Wear Orange on Orange / Oh Joy!

Angie, our Visual and Product Designer, went for orange it's her power color. Angie says, "This dress is my power suit. I initially fell in love with the unusual and architectural construction of this dress, but then the color really stole my heart. The color and the lines of this dress make for a very vibrant statement. Plus, it has pockets!" I love the deep "v" of Angie's shoes which mimic the angles in the dress!

Angie is wearing an ASOS dress, ASOS shoes, and Kate Spade earrings (past season).

How to Wear Yellow on Yellow / Oh Joy!

Jess, our Creative Content assistant, loves the texture that the all-over sequins give this dress. She says, "I chose this yellow sequin dress because it's like a glammed up comfy t-shirt dress. I think the simple strappy heels are a nice balance and lets the dress really be the star of the show." Jess' heels are a slightly lighter shade of yellow showing you that the colors don't have to match exactly to work together!

Jess is wearing a Zara dress and JustFab shoes.

How to Wear Green on Green / Oh Joy!

Joy, that's me! Green is my favorite color, but I actually rarely wear it. I went for three shades of green for this look showing how you can mix different greens together in one outfit (remember Great Expectations where the whole movie was in shades of green? It's one of my favorites, visually). I mixed a vintage dress and jacket with modern suede shoes for this pretty-in-green look.

I am wearing a vintage dress from Gossamer, vintage jacket from RetMod, and shoes from And Other Stories.

How to Wear Blue on Blue / Oh Joy!

Julia, our Creative Content Producer & Stylist, is rocking blue with her baby bump! Julia says, "I chose this dress because it was a maternity dress that still felt chic and stylish. The material because is easy to move in which is very important for me and this growing belly!" I love that Julia embraced her bump in this dress and picked something that really shows it off!

Julia is wearing an ASOS Maternity Dress, Cecelia New York Shoes, and J Crew earrings (past season).

How to Wear Purple on Purple / Oh Joy!

Nicole, our E-Commerce Coordinator/Buyer, is rocking a purple jacket dress. She says, "I chose this jacket dress because it's on trend, and it wasn't too short. It's the perfect length for my height, and fit my body type perfectly. I added some purple heels for height, and I love the contrast of the shiny shoes with the matte dress. Wearing any color is all new for me, so this was a great introduction to my new world of color!" One great tip that Nicole shows off here is to push up the sleeves on a blazer for a more casual look! It feels more feminine that way.

Nicole is wearing an ASOS dress and Steve Madden shoes (past season).

How to Wear Pink on Pink / Oh Joy!

Traci, our Social Media Coordinator, loves jumpers and pink! Traci says, "This combines some of my favorite things and is like dream come true! Since the jumper is sleeveless, I paired with with a long, faux fur vintage jacket to add texture and warmth. I added a little height with heels because the pants are wide-legged." Traci is showing how three different shades (and textures!) of pink can work so well together.

Traci is wearing an ASOS jumper, Loeffler Randall shoes, J.Crew earrings, and a vintage coat.
