I'm playing with abstract prints for this month's pattern adventures! From loud and bold to soft and subtle, here are four colorful outfits packed with abstract pattern…

How to Wear Abstract Patterns / Oh Joy!

Futuristic — The shoulders on this jacket reminds me of The Jetsons (remember that show?!), and I love it. Paired with an eyelet top and fun abstract pants, this look is playful yet dressy. How to Wear Abstract Patterns / Oh Joy!

Futuristic: Smythe blazer (past season), Zara top, Gorman pants, Marais shoes.

Party Pants — This outfit combines a lot of warm, earthy tones. The pants are wide-leg with a super fun print, so I kept the rest of the outfit in solids and played off the color-scheme from the pants with deep greens, burnt yellow, and crisp white. The tee might look like a plain shirt, but don't be fooled. It has a cute compliment embroidered on the sleeve!

Party Pants: Machete earrings, Zara coat, Ban.do top, Zara pants, Clare V. purse, & Other Stories shoes.

Go Big — You know what they say…go big or go home! I went all out with this outfit and combined lots of colors and textures to create one cohesive look. The shirt is inspired by salvation mountain in Southern California and has so many great colors in it. I paired it with metallics (silver glitter booties AND shiny gold shorts!) because why not!? To top it all off, I added some dangly earrings and a chic, hot pink clutch.

J.Crew earrings, Gorman top, Lillian Farag clutch, Buru shorts, Ban.do boots.

Playful & Pretty — If you're trying abstract prints for the first time, this jumper is a fun (and comfy) option! It has a more subtle design that mixes a few different patterns all in one while still being soft and playful. You can wear it even in cooler weather by pairing it with a long sleeve top underneath (like I did) or you can wear it as on it's own for a hot summer day. I paired it with some geometric earrings and metallic slip-on sandals.

  1. Your sense of fashion is so lighthearted and fun. I love it. The gold short outfit it fabulous but when you click the link it takes you to a Zara embroidered blouse. Are the shorts from Zara?
