Oh Joy! Dressing The Team / Two-Piece Sets

Wilmarose, our Substitute Creative Content Producer & Stylist, is showing us how to take a two-piece set from day to night! She says, "I love this two-piece set from Free People! Maxi dresses are usually too long on me (I'm 5'4"), but I was able to wear this skirt high on my waist to make the length perfect for heels or flats. The cute peplum top added a fun silhouette, and the front ties made this sweet polkadot print a bit more sassy. I kept the shoes neutral in a sugary metallic heel which dressed up an otherwise bohemian outfit. I could see myself wearing this to a casual wedding or a fun summer party. But, I could easily kick off the heels and throw on some flat sandals and be beach party ready!

Then, I swapped out the maxi skirt for a pair of skinny distressed cropped jeans to make a completely different outfit that's perfect for a girls night out or a date night with my husband!"

Angie, our Visual and Product Designer (and pregnant with baby #3), is rocking a super fun rainbow two-piece! She says, "Gorman is definitely one of my favorite apparel brands. I love their bold and bright patterns, vibrant colors, and lighthearted approach to design. When I'm dressed in Gorman I feel confident, playful, and me, even as I grow this little human. It has been a challenge to find fun apparel pieces that are comfortable and fit my growing belly, and I feel like I glow in this two-piece set. It's a non-maternity set with a comfortable, elastic waist, silk skirt and loose fitting tank. This is something that that I would wear everyday in the spring and summer pretty much anywhere—to work, to a wedding, to a backyard get together, exploring art galleries, on a date night, etc.

To bring this fun pattern and comfortable skirt into fall, I swapped the top for a relaxed basic grey tee and moto jacket."

Courtney, my Executive Assistant, loves this navy two-piece outfit from Ripley Rader! She says, "It's very flattering for plus size! I love how it shows a slice of mid-drift if you want it to. Adding bright shoes and accessories makes it much more fun or you can keep it sleek and chic and wear more neutral or navy pieces.

To mix it up, I swapped the matching top for a shirt and blazer, making it the perfect outfit for meetings that transitions perfectly into fall."

Traci, our Social Media Coordinator, is going from beachy to posh! She says, "I love this set because although the print is the same, the materials are slightly different! Both pieces are super easy to wear on their own and to either dress up or down. For the first outfit, I tied the top (since it's a little more flowy) to cinch it at the waist. I would wear this outfit to a backyard party, the beach, or pretty much anywhere in the summer."

For the second outfit, she went more chic and paired the skirt with a structured white crop top and sleek sandals with a heel.

Nicole, our E-Commerce Coordinator/Buyer, is rocking this green, white, and black two-piece tropical set! She says, "I chose this outfit because I love that it is stretchy and covers my mom tummy. A lot of the two-pieces out there are a little too revealing for me, but this outfit is perfect. The print helps take the focus off certain areas that I don't feel like need focus ;). I'd wear it on a vacation to Palm Springs or on a summer date night!"

To mix it up, she paired it with a white button-up shirt and tied it in the front to make it a little more dressy and sophisticated.

Jess, our Creative Content Assistant, is showing us how to go from gala-ready to a beach-ready with just a few changes! She  says, "I would wear the two-piece set to a wedding or fancy event – it's a slightly unexpected and summer-y twist on the typical full-length dress."

For a more casual spin on the outfit, she paired the top with a colorful skirt, sandals and a jean jacket. She says, "The top goes perfectly with a more casual, breezy skirt. I like the contrast with the denim jacket and comfy sandals make it a great beach or barbeque outfit."

Joy, that's me! This is a very fancy two-piece outfit that's surely suitable to wear as a non-traditional wedding outfit or to a very chic soirée. I love that it redefines an all-white outfit in a beautiful textured lace. Since I rarely wear neutrals, this was a really fun option for me which I had to accent with a bright green heel!

By changing out the pants, this outfit now becomes more suitable for less dressy occasions. The bright pink pants are tailored yet stretchy making them very flattering and wearable to work or out to dinner.

  1. Me ha encantado ver a modelos normales sin que siempre sea una talla 36 , las maduritas rellenitas tambien nos gusta la moda y mucho y los accesorios, y sentinos guapas y ver a chicas normales, guapas pero normales .

  2. This is so cool and inspiring. I like Wilmarose’s styling most. I always have an eye for polka-dotted clothes. So cute!

  3. Shoes looks astonishing and furthermore entertaining, however as you said it is agreeable so I can likewise attempt these kind of shoes. I purchased a couple pair in the spring, however can’t generally wear them for fall. They’re cloth, which appears to be pretty solely spring and summer.

  4. can you please tell me the link for the zara outfit that you wore on instagram where it looked like a top but was actually a dress? i think it was in patel colors. thank you!
