A colorful couch may seem hard to match with the rest of your decor, but we are all about taking color risks around here. And today, we're showing you how you can take this gorgeous mustard couch and style it with two different color schemes! One room is very warm with lots of pink and the other plays with cool blue hues. Check it out…
When styling with a fun couch, people often think all the other accessories in the room need to be muted so as to not compete with the couch. BUT, that's not true! You can go bright and bold with a statement couch and still play with other colorful, vibrant accents. As long as you make sure that the colors compliment each other and you mix in different textures, you can still achieve a pulled together living room bursting with life.
This version plays up warm tones with accents of pink, deeper mustard, and orange with pops of other colors sprinkled in there.

For this living room, we went with cool blues! I love yellow and blue together for a warm and calming space. When styling with a bold couch and using lots of other fun colors, we like to keep the furniture neutral with white and gold pieces. This adds in other textures with sleek metals and keeps things feeling super chic.

I love the second blue room! The yellows and blues really look relaxing.
I like the pinker room too, I’m just more of a blue fan than pink in general I think. 🙂
Lovely!
Thanks so much Ali!

Love the colors in the gray/blue mix! I have a weird question: Where does all this furniture go after you style it? (And all the accessories too!) Is there an Oh Joy warehouse somewhere?
Always love your colors and your hints. You give tools for people to take the leap! Too much boring and *safe* stuff out there.
Hi! We have a prop room in our office!

Honestly, I have never thought about having a mustard couch… but those photos you shared makes me want one! I love the way that you decorated the couch!
