Happy Monday! We love taking one item and turning it into something different yet still very functional. So today, we're showing you how to take a plain storage box and turn it into a pretty painted planter box! Here's the before…
Before we gave this storage box a little TLC, it was plain wood and we used it to store toys (see below!). We wanted to give it an Oh Joy! makeover with a fun splash of color, so we decided to transform it completely by turning it into a planter box. This is a great project if you're looking to repurpose items around the home that have served their time and could be made into something new. Once your kid outgrows a toy box, you can give it a brand new function in your home.
You'll need…
– toy chest
– sand paper
– painters tape
– spray paint primer
– spray paint
– metallic tape
Here's how…
1. Lightly sand the chest and wipe clean.
2. Use painters tape to protect legs from spray paint.
3. Spray with primer and let dry 30 minutes.
4. Spray with paint. Let dry one hour.
5. Add strip of metallic tape onto the bottom.
Voila! It looks and feels brand new!
