a pink & green dining room…

We've shown you how to create a pink and green living room, and we're back with one of our all-time favorite color combinations to show you how to style a dining room! Here are a few things to keep in mind when you want to make the two colors POP…

1. Paint the town! We love this shade of green, so we decided to do it big by painting the wall, table, bench, and stools all in the same color. You might be thinking, "Whoa! Won't that be too much green all in the same shade?" We say…no way! It's a really fun way to add your favorite color to a space without worrying about different shades clashing. The trick is to balance out the room with other colors and creative negative space so it isn't overwhelming. (Painting the wall just halfway up helps with this, too!)

2. Let's talk colors… When trying to pick two main colors for a space, make sure they're complimentary. Green and pink is a classic combo that we love, and there are lots of great pieces out there that incorporate both colors (like that rug!). We mixed in pink chairs since the benches are green, and then we added both pink and green tableware. We threw in small doses of white with the shag rug (that also adds texture), pots, wall, and frame. We also made sure to incorporate a few other colors (like the pinkish purple art print!) to add variety.

3. Mix and match chairs! You know we love to mix and match chairs here at Oh Joy!, but we also love to throw in a bench every once in a while. The bench makes the space feel more casual and inviting and allows you to play with different styles, colors, and adds visual interest (while also being practical – win win!).
