Get ready for lots of dreamy photos! We recently took a field trip to the Second Home Pavilion in Los Angeles at the La Brea Tar Pits, and we're sharing all the rainbow tunnel goodness with you. See below for all the details and how we spent the afternoon…
One of the reasons we love Los Angeles so much is all of the amazing exhibits, instillations, and art found throughout the city! There is so much to see and do at any given time (for little to no cost), and this is one you don't want to miss this summer. This installation, designed by Spanish architects José Selgas and Lucía Cano, is nestled by the La Brea Tar Pits right next to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
The installation will be around until November 24th! You can visit daily from 11am to 7pm (9pm on Fridays). Admission is free and you can just walk in if you happen upon it. Or, you can reserve a space online before your visit if you'd like.
The space itself isn't HUGE, so you can spend five minutes there and see it all, or you can make it an event and get lots of photos, see how the light changes, and take in all the different colors. No matter what you decide to do, it's fun to explore the space around the pavilion by heading over to LACMA, the Tar Pits, or enjoy a day at the park.
If you've ever been to LACMA, chances are you've passed by Ray's + Stark Bar with the fun patio space. So, we stopped in to get lunch!
We love pizza, so we ordered the Bianca (pictured here) topped with crispy rosemary and a Margherita. It was delicious.
We also ordered their crispy fries, which really ARE crispy. If you go, you have to order them. We also got their Farmer's Market Salad (it was so good we all took seconds) and an order of SPICY shishito peppers bottarga. If you want to make a day of it when you go to the Second Home Serpentine Pavilion, make a pit stop here for lunch! It's the perfect way to end the afternoon.
