Helloooooo fall! Now that it's officially autumn, we're ready for cooler temps and all the rich, warm tones. So as we wrap up this month's Color Adventures, here is a super inviting, cozy living room filled with jewel tones. If jewel tones are your thing, or if you just want some tips on how to style a living room in general, here are THREE things we kept in mind when creating this space…

1) A bright wall! We brightened up this jewel tone room by painting the walls a gorgeous mustard. Keeping the walls light lets the darker emerald couch really pop. We know painting your walls a bold color can be intimidating, so we always recommend starting with a half-wall, a statement solo wall, or doing a fun 3/4 split to ease into it. There are so many fun variations that you can test out!

2) Hang artwork in clusters of three. We love filling our walls with artwork. One trick we like to stick to when laying out artwork is to hang them in clusters of threes. This helps keep it balanced while still being organic and playful. It's a nice in-between when you don't want just ONE statement piece but also don't want an entire gallery wall.

3) Texture, texture, texture! Bringing in textures is a great way to make a space warm and welcoming. Here, we went bold and fun with the furniture by pairing this emerald green couch with our favorite vintage finds, hot pink armchairs. All three pieces are velvet, which adds a ton of cozy texture to the space, but we wanted MORE! So, we added in lots of rich pillows in velvet and even a few with tassels.
