Can you believe Halloween is THIS WEEK!? If you're looking for a super colorful and fun last-minute painted pumpkin DIY, try color blocking them! It's really easy and makes a bold statement. Check it out…
You'll need…
– pumpkins
– spray paint
– painters tape
Here's how…
1. Spray each pumpkin with one solid color. Let fully dry, about 30 minutes.
2. Use painter's tape to tape all the way around the center.
3. Spray above the painters tape with the base color one more time (this will make a cleaner line once you remove the tape). Let dry.
4. Spray above the painters tape with the second color. Let dry and then remove tape.
Remember, you can choose any colors you want! We went with a tonal color-block, but you can mix it up however suits your mood. Make a bunch and stack them on your steps to greet trick-or-treaters, or just make a few and cluster them by your door. They're great, too, because they transition perfectly into November as festive fall decor!

These are adorable! Now I’m thinking that maybe I should paint my pumpkins this week instead of carve them. Hmmm…

They look fun, but then you can’t
compost them like you would
with a carved or plain pumpkin 🙁
Hi Liz,
We actually used faux pumpkins here. Since there are so many, we use faux and save them year after year and mix in a few real ones.

This is SUCH a gorgeous idea!
