Design Cool Artist: Audrey Kawasaki June 12, 2006 I’m a big fan of figural artwork, and these paintings by Audrey Kawasaki are really gorgeous. All paintings have a wood canvas and include imagery that is both feminine, sensual, and a bit melancholy. Thanks to Mackenzie for the tip!
Wow wow wow! LOVE this. It has an almost surreal, art nouveau-ish quality to it…
Thanks for sharing, as always.
She has a LIveJournal with a large following, posts photos of her work and apt. too. she is too awesome.
I like her work alot, I really do. But I must admit that it makes me uncomfortable, as it seems as if the women are girls or sexualized adolescents. But I love that she uses the wood as a means of texture, rather than just a background.
I love Audrey’s work!
Very cool – stylish and subtly sexy! Thanks, Joy.
Lovely stuff. Kinda spooky but still lovely..
Is it me or is the girl on the bottom left Mandy Moore?
Gorgeous work!! Thanks for sharing!!

Nice!! Very sensual. Wonder blog!! One I will bookmark.
Gorgeous – there is something truly hauntingly beautiful in these pieces – almost Victorian, but still modern – I don’t know – I just know I am in love!

I love Audrey’s Work. I have 3 of her prints at home. I found this cool set from the Smitten Show on Ebay. Now I have to save up for it!
