Hooray! We signed the lease on our new place in LA! While we were mainly focusing on something in Los Feliz, we ended finding a great home for rent in Silver Lake very close to Los Feliz. It comes with this breathtaking view of the West side {you can't tell from this photo, but you can see the Hollywood sign from our patio!}, and I couldn't be more excited. I'm looking forward a new space and new city and all the new adventures to come. I'll be sure to post photos of the inside once we get moved in and settled and have a chance to decorate…

{Thanks to Take Sunset for helping us find a great place!}

  1. My best friend lives in Silverlake, and I just went out there to visit him in March. What an awesome, funky, stylish neighborhood – perfect for you!! Congrats!

  4. I went to the Take Sunset website to help in the search for a new place for my boyfriend and I (we live in Los Feliz and don’t really want to leave the area but the landlord sucks…) but when I visited the site it appeared to be just homes for sale. Albeit, amazing amazing homes!
    Would you advice contacting Take Sunset for rental properties? Or do they not normally do that?

  5. hi sunshine,

    And Take Sunset is my real estate agent! He’s great and I love the site. He has a great feel for what goes on over here.

  9. Yay, I’m glad it worked out! Take Sunset does it all. 😉 I love living in Silver Lake and I think you will love the neighborhood too. You have to check out Lake on Silver Lake Boulevard. Cute store.

  10. You must, MUST, visit two coffee shops in your new neighborhood. Intelligentsia (on Sunset) & Le Mill (on Silverlake Blvd). Two completely different atmospheres but great experiences. There is also a gorgeous & creative flower shop called ‘Gilly’s’ next to Intelligentsia. I recommend bringing something home every-once-in-a-while. He is stunningly creative. Blessings as you settle in!!

  11. Congrats and welcome to LA! My best friend lives in Silver Lake (I live out in the burbs – Valencia). She and her husband love it there, I’m sure you will too!

  15. Welcome, I live down the street!
    A couple of places that I recommend checking out:
    Bikram Yoga in Silverlake is awesome.
    The Alcove in Los Feliz is delicious.
    Eagle Rock Brewery is not too far from you and its an up-and-coming brewery that just opened in February. delicious beer and amazing owners.
    🙂

  16. Hooray! I’ve lived in Silver Lake for over 10 years and you’re going to love it! For awesome Mexican, try Alegria on Sunset Blvd. (It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s super yummmmmmmy.) Grey for really cute dresses and accessories. The Beauty Bar for fun soaps and perfumes. Oh, and the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings until noon is also worth checking out! I’ll stop myself now but please don’t hesitate to email if you want more. 🙂

  17. Yay, since I just learned about you, and soon to be working with you, I’m so glad you’ll be in LA! Congrats on your exciting move!
