On Saturday night, Bob and I were looking to find the MIHO Gastrotruck, and to our surprise and delight, we can across this super cute event, Summertime and the Living is Easy located in the parking lot behind the newly opened Casa Atrelexia shop. Complete with food, popsicles, a DJ, summer movies, and super fun decor, our night on the hunt for a food truck turned into an unexpected treat.
The decor was festive and colorful complete with baskets of flowers, stacks of hay, and solid pops of yellow, pink, and red throughout.
Sitting in a Tree transformed this parking lot into a Mexican-inspired summer picnic in the country. We had a great time and left with our bellies full of MIHO snacks, {see more about the food at Oh Joy Eats}, Viva Pops's cool treats, and a much more festive evening that we had anticipated!

What a sweet event! The pops of color in the flowers and chairs are awesome and so summery. I’ll be on the lookout for this truck throughout San Diego! Does anyone know if they post a schedule of where they’ll be?

Amazing, wonderful, gorgeous San Diego summer evening– I was visiting from out of town, and I LOVED this event. So impressed that probably at least 250 people were in line for the incredibly tasty food from MihoGastrotruck. And the decorations from Sitting in a Tree Events lady Tori were beyond clever! Great evening, great people, great location!
p.s. DJ Austin Hendrix was AWESOME. Loved his music– and loved his movie mix on the wall.
i LOVE this – what beautiful colors!!
Hello Joy!
Thank you for sharing this lovely event. I fell in love at first sight.
I wanted to share that those flower pots (like the one in the last photo) are also baskets for your bicycle. I saw them in a window display the afternoon after seeing your post. xo
