a {dwr} hang-it-all giveaway…

Dwr-eames-hangitall2

Dwr-eames-hangitall2

I've always been a huge fan of the Eames and their sense of "serious fun" that have made Eames designs such classic and iconic pieces since the 40's and 50's. I've long-coveted their super fun hang-it-all and was thrilled to see a more handsome and neutral alternative debut last week. Design Within Reach recently launched a limited edition version of the hang-it-all in a walnut and black steel colorway, and we've joined together with them to give away this limited edition piece {a $249 value} to one lucky Oh Joy reader.

Simply visit the DWR Eames page and leave a comment below telling us which Eames piece you already have or would love to have in your home. Comments close on Friday morning at 9am PST. Sorry, open to US residents only.

UPDATE: Congrats to Carrie C. from Raleigh, North Carolina for being the lucky winner!

  10. i have an eames rocker and i love it…i’d like a few dowel leg side chairs for the heads of my dining room table (when extended)and as occasional chairs in the meantime.

  11. Man, I just love the molded plywood chairs. I once stole a knock-off from one of the art buildings in Syracuse because it was just sitting out there as I went home super late one night. I used to feel bad about it, but it’s moved with me everywhere and still rocking as a desk chair.
I want every piece in the Eames collection.

  12. I have the Eames lounge chair and ottoman. My husband and I bought it when we get married and we plan on always making a place for it in our home.
But I have always wanted the hang-it-all!!!

  13. amazing giveaway! i love the molded plywood lounge chair. it’s like the lbd of furniture (dress it up, dress it down, goes with everything).

  14. I recently moved into my first apartment, and I’m (naturally) living on a very limited budget. Even so, I wanted to furnish my place with furniture I loved. I scrimped and saved and bought an Eames Molded Plastic Armchair in Aqua Sky. I hope to add to my collection someday, but, until then, this piece of art is a very happy addition to my new life.

  22. ! I just discovered DWR’s Chicago shop this past weekend and it is so cool! Such an old eclectic space filled with modern design! I would love to have this piece in my little apartment!

  23. I love the Molded Plywood Lounge Chairs. And when I have enough money to redo my living room, I’d love to add 1 or 2.

  24. Great giveaway! I received the catalog and looked at all the great pictures for over an hour. I love the lounge and ottoman.

  25. I would love to have an Eames rocker for my daughter’s nursery. My dream would be to have an Eames lounge and ottoman for our living room. *sigh* A girl can dream!

  33. Love the Eames Lounge and Ottoman! It is an investment piece that I would have forever. But I do love the hang-it-all! It would be perfect hanging in my front hall!

  34. My first Eames purchase was 4 White Molded Plastic DSR Side chairs. That’s what got me hooked on Eames. I just made the lifetime investment in an the Lounger and Ottoman. I would love 2 molded plywood lounge chairs to complete the look. I’m modern now and never looking back!

  35. I’ve always loved but have never been able to afford the molded plastic rocker. I would feel so lucky to own an actual Eames piece!

  36. Since I had a baby I have been dreaming of rocking in the Eames molded plastic rocker…
    Love it!

  37. we have the Eames Aluminum Lounge Chair.. not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it’s comfy too! now that i’ve seen the other offerings on DWR, i’d love to add the bird and the enamel elephant to our home decor. thanks for the giveaway, joy šŸ™‚

  38. A little bit embarrassed to admit that I used the birth of my child as an excuse to purchase the Eames rocker in white and walnut. Our living room has exploded with toys and the floor is covered in those awful coloured square foam playmats. I am dreaming of the day that I can replace that with an Eames lounger and ottoman is white leather and the Eames molded plywood coffee table. Just noticed on the DWR site that there is a mini Eames lounger! How adorable – now wouldn’t that make for a great living room addition.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  39. I would love love to have the Eames Soft Pad Management Chair… my fiance and I currently share one desk chair, which means one person gets the chair and the other brings in one of our bar stools (which of course has a seat height of the top of the desks, so makes it a little difficult to type!). I would love to have one of those in powder blue leather!

  40. We have 4 original side chairs and an arm chair that my husband diligently hunted down on ebay.
    I love this hang-it-all.

  41. Gahh! I would LOVE the molded plastic rocker in aqua for a someday-baby’s room. But I love this hang-it-all and it might force me to buy that rocker to go with it. šŸ™‚

  42. Oh gosh! Should I admit this? I have quite a few Eames pieces. I have three Eames LCW chairs (one red and two yellow), two vintage shell desk chairs, and a vintage shell side chair with orange leather upholstery. I could fill my home with Eames! They are easily my favorite designers!

  43. I have the lounge chair and ottoman… and often dream about sitting in it when I am not at home!

  44. I was gifted with a knock off Eames lounge by an eccentric Aunt when I went to college. I fell in love with their style and design and have always wanted a real piece by them. The Hang-it-all is classic and oh so lovely! Now I just need that cute little Eames Elephant and I would be truly happy!

  45. Don’t have to think twice…I’d die for a EamesĀ® Lounge and Ottoman.
Yeah, to relax and watch movies.
    Excellent!
Anyway, loved to have the hang-it-all for sure.

  46. I have always wanted a EamesĀ® Lounge and Ottoman- been looking at the classic ones for years. I adore the sofa as well. Great chairs too. I think I want them all.

  47. I do not have any Eames pieces (yet!) but something I have admired for so long is the Eames La Chaise.
    Such a sexy chair!

  48. I don’t own any Eames furniture, but I’ve always loved the molded plastic chairs in aquaā€”they go so beautifully with my kitchen color scheme

  49. We splurged on a set of Eames Eiffel chairs when we moved into our new apartment, now I am dying for a matching rocking chair!

  50. I have always wanted an Eames Aluminum Management Chair. I work at home and that would be just the right touch for a creative working environment. This is such a great give-away. Thank you.

  67. I’m a graphic designer and when I was in college, I created a poster featuring Eames’ chairs. I have always been fascinated by chairs and he is my favorite designer. It’s been my dream to own a EamesĀ® Lounge and Ottoman.

  68. I covet the Eames Elephant! How cute. C+R Eames work is so beautiful – I especially love the whimsical films they made.

  69. I am coveting a set of four white molded plastic dowel leg chairs for my dining room in a big way!

  70. I have always been *so* in love with the lounge and ottoman set. I also adore the coat rack, the storage unit, and the house bird!

  71. For me the Louis Ghost chair. I loved it when it first came out. I thought 400 bones was an unimaginable amount of money for a chair…but that was what, a million years ago? Now…must.have.chair. Maybe I have been brain washed? I do have a stunning shaker table from there, my very first DWR purchase…it was dreamy when it came…I still remember it.

  72. What an awesome giveaway! I don’t own any authentic Eames, but I do have a knockoff lounger + ottoman. I dream of owning a real Molded Plywood Lounge Chair. good luck, all!

  80. I’d have to go with the DAR molded plastic armchair, in turquoise. It would look so perfect next to my built in shelving (the background of which is painted orange). Hmm or maybe the rocker, to use in the nursery!

  81. we’ve had our white molded side chairs at our dining room table for the past few years and loved every minute of it. nothing beats a good quality piece from eames. the walnut hang-it-all has been on our want list for awhile now, too…

  89. The molded plywood coffee table was the first grown-up piece of furniture I bought for myself, even though I had to scrimp and save for ages. And I still love it to death!

  90. I have no Eames pieces (I can’t afford them!) but my cousin picked up an Eames black lounge chair and footstool for $40 at a thift store last year!! How awesome is that? It’s in good condition, too.

  91. Definitely the mini plywood elephant – not very useful, but so cool and interesting and adorable.

  92. I have always adored every Eames piece. My favorites are the molded plywood/plastic chairs + tables (an eclectic mix of them for my dining room would be fab), but the lounge + ottoman are always classic staples. I would love-love-love to have a piece of Eames genius in my home!
Also, those little elephants are totes adorable!

  93. I dream of an amazing desk chair…I’ve always coveted the Eames aluminum management chair. I imagine I’d be so much more creative and productive just by sitting in it!

  94. Although I like the molded plastic rocker, I have always really loved the storage units. I love the bold mixing of color and material.

  95. Easily the lounge and ottoman, though I am currently coveting the Eames House blocks. I just don’t think I would allow my son to play with them!
    I love everything Eames!

  96. of course, i would just about DIE for the eames lounger and ottoman…
    ahhhh, a girl can dream!
this awesome hang-all, though would be PERFECTION in our new home!
    fingers crossed!

  97. It’s so hard to choose just one piece but I’ve always coveted the Eames lounge! In the meantime, I’d love to have an hang it all to organize fall clothing that will be pulled out of storage before we know it!

  105. I don’t own eames, so if I had the money I would probably just go with the classic eames molded chair. It’s sort of an iconic piece.
This is a great a giveaway!

  106. I inherited the EamesĀ® Lounge and Ottoman from my grandmother and all of my friends have made it “their” chair when they come over. It is a great functional and classic piece!

  107. I love the molded plywood folding screen. It’s undulations are sublime. I had the privilege to attend a party at the home (loft) of the granddaughter of C&R Eames in Denver and see all the furniture together in a real life setting. Stunning, to say the least.

  108. i would love to have the eames lounge chair. someday.
i love the coat hanger and have the perfect place for it in the entryway.

  117. I am a HUGE fan of Charles and Ray Eames. My favorites would have to be their lounge chair and ottoman (my sister has them and they are amazingly comfortable and lovely), the walnut stools and the molded plastic rocker (come baby nursery time). I would love love love to have their films too! I wrote about how much they inspired me with their multi-media curiosity in my admissions essay to art school.

  118. The Eames lounge chair is my favorite. It looks like the perfect place to cozy up with a good book!

  119. Before I moved out of my place, I was thisclose to buying a pair of the wire-base tables as nightstands, but I had to get low bookcases instead because I have too many books. That surfboard table is also a feen of mine.

  120. oh i’d be more than happy just to have the hang it all.. but if i could have any piece, it’d be the white elephant- perfect little quirky accessary for our first house! (moving in a week, so excited!)

  121. Sadly I have never been able to afford any of the lovely Eames items from DWR (or anywhere else for that matter). I have coveted the original Hang-It-All for years, but I would be perfectly happy to have this one if I were to win!

  122. I have an original fiberglass side chair, and am lusting after the Molded Plastic rocker and Molded plywood lounger. Both iconic, beautiful pieces. I proudly hang up my collection of Eames stamps on the wall, as well!

  123. My husband and I have two vintage mustard yellow shell chairs that we use as desk chairs. My favorite things are the Hang-It-All in Walnut and the Sofa – 2 Seat.

  135. I already have quite a few Eames pieces and I love each and every one of them. I think either an Eames stool or Eames Molded Plywood Lounge chair would be the next great addition to the Eames Lounge+Ottoman, 1×1 storage unit, Eames Rocker, and Origingal Eames Hang-it-all that I currently own.
    Thanks for the great giveaway.

    Thanks for the great giveaway.

the hang it all!!! I want it!!!

  144. The Eames Molded Plywood Lounge chair is such a beautiful piece, and I would love to have one or a pair! As for Eames in my home? I framed the Charles and Ray Eames US Postage stamp sheet that came out in 2008– always a fan, even on a limited budget!

  145. The molded plastic stacking chair takes me back to my childhood. My partner and I have a huge crush on Charles & Ray Eames…we recently sat down to watch an old 16mm film they made about the powers of ten. Clever couple, so full of vitality.

  146. I dream about having the Eames Aluminum Management chair sitting at my desk. How chic!
And that beautiful hang it all as I enter my apartment. I love it.
Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway!

  147. I would love the Eames Lounge & Ottoman.
When I was growing up, we would visit my grandparents every Sunday. They owned matching Eames lounges with ottomans and would sit back in them and tell their amazing stories while I played on the floor. Unfortunately when they passed, no one in my family knew what those chairs were and I was too young to know the difference. They were split up and given away.
I’d like to think that staring at those chairs every Sunday for about 10 years helped form my idea of what furniture should be. Something that forms into a person’s life and becomes an aid to their story.

  148. I would love to have anything Eames: from the house of cards to the Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair. So lovely and fun!

  149. We found a faux-Eames molded plastic armchair in my parents alley. Hosed it off and moved it inside. We love it, but we’d really adore a true Eames molded plastic rocker. So cute.

  150. how delightful is that elephant! i’d be so thrilled to get to add it to the apartment.

  151. I would LOVE the hang it all for our new place. I have the RAR rocker and think the elephant would be so cute for the nursery – seen it in a few blogs already.

  152. I have always wanted the eames lounge chair and ottoman! I actually used to own the multi-colored version of this hang-it-all when i was a little girl but this one would be so much more perfect in my new adult apartment!

  160. I really love the walnut stools. I think they look very chic grouped together as a coffee table alternative!

  161. I love the Eames rocker and their storage units and their house of cards! (basically, everything)!

  162. I would love the the plywood lounge chair or the lounge and ottoman. I would love to curl up with a blanket and book on that piece.

  163. I’m personally a fan of the walnut stool. They’re unique, so I think they’d stand out.

  164. As a designer, I have always been in love with Eames. I guess, who isn’t? But I’m writing this about/for my friend who just moved into her first home. I’ve assisted her in putting the living room together – choosing curtains, confirming that the couch doesn’t clash with the wall paint, options for the mantel, etc. Every time, she mentions how much she would die to have the Eames Lounge & Ottoman sitting pretty in the corner. However, it is completely out of her price range (At least for now.)
I would love to walk in, to her house warming party, holding the Eames Hang-it-all. It isn’t the chair, but I think close enough!

  165. My favorite Eames product that I own is their house of cards. I have the set in my design studio where I periodically change out the structure or the color palette that is showcased. People are drawn to the cardsā€”the look, the feel, the playfulness of them. They’re perfect.

  173. I’m sold on the molded plywood pieces from the Eames collection! Love the coffee table, wish I could afford a pair of the lounge chairs…

  174. I own the Wire-Base Table in White and would love to add any of the storage units to my livingroom and a Hang-It-All would look super in my hallway!

  182. How can anyone go wrong with the Eames Lounge chair and ottoman. Buttery soft leather, classic lines that have bucked the trends and remained steadfast thru the decades! Swoom

  183. like you, i’ve always coveted the hang-it-all as well! of course, i’d also love a lounge chair and some store units. someday my dream will come true šŸ™‚

  184. Love it all! We have a knock off lounger since we can’t afford the real thing : ) Would love the hang it all!!

  185. The colorful hang-it-all could hold everything that I don’t want my kitties to steal! No more necklace heists…

  186. I would love to have the Eames rocking chair. I try to justify getting it by telling the husband that its for our future baby! haha!

  187. I first started to really love Eames back in college when I was an intern at a craft and design museum and was charged with dusting all the lovely mid century furniture. The lounge and matching ottoman were my gold standard of good design. Later, as I learned more about the Eames’, I became so entranced with the romantic notions of the couple and how ideal it would be to be designing such amazing work with the person you love. I equated their attention to detail in all the elements of a home with a lust for life and sense of making the mundane fun.
Years later, as I now try to make good design with the person that I love, renovating our new home on a meager museum employee’s salary, I still try to evoke the Eames’ sense of fun and curiosity, even when we’re in the drudgery of building codes and loan paperwork. How I would love to hang this coat rack up in our new home when all the work is finally complete!

  188. I think it would be an honor to have any of Eames’ pieces in my home- what a brilliant artist. If I was so fortunate I would likely start with one of his classic molded plywood chairs and hope to work my way up to the 4×2 storage unit!

  189. I am a huge fan of Eames timeless designs. For years, I have lusted over the La Chaise because it not only a beautiful piece of furniture but a piece of art as well. Eames ability to combine art and design is absolutely unmatched. Also, the La Chaise just so lovely!

  190. Oh my goodness I have been wanting this forever!
I adore the molded plywood lounge chair!!!!

  191. When I “grow up”, I would love my home to be my very own little chair museum. And the first piece in that museum would, without a doubt, be the Eames Lounge Chair. With the Ottoman, of course. What a great giveaway!

  192. I love the molded plastic armchairs — especially the play between solid top and spindly legs.

  193. I have the Molded Plastic Rocker in white but I really really want the walnut and black steel hang-it-all!

  194. I have the rocker (which I absolutely love) but would love the hang-it-all, the white elephant, and the lounge chair.
    What a fantastic giveaway!

  195. Love the Eames collection! Someday I will have the Lounger and Ottoman in white leather & walnut (a girl can dream right). Such great pieces that never go out of style, they sure knew what they were doing.

  196. We have six white Eames molded side chairs paired with our antique surfboard dining table. But, when we finally get that baby we,be been trying so hard for, he or she is going to have a white Eames elephant in his or her nursery, FOR SURE!!

  197. I just added my very first Eames piece to my home this week – the white molded plastic armchair with the dowel legs. Love it!

  198. someday an eames rocker… but for now a hang-it-all is about all my small apartment can handle!

  199. I am a BIG admirer of their work! I have always been in love with their Molded Plywood Lounge Chair. Just 2 years ago I found a rather unique side chair with leather, orange cushions on the bottom and back with a tan shell! I’ve also watched the film showing the design process of the plastic side chair and it’s amazing to see what went into creating that technique! No wonder everyone LOVES their work to this day!

  200. I would love to own the Eames Walnut Stool in option B!
I would use it in our living room as a little side table for drinks. I love it! So pretty!

  201. I would love to have the EamesĀ® Molded Plastic Rocker – RAR in my living room. Thanks DWR and Oh Joy! for such a great giveaway!

  202. This would be so useful in my new apt! My favorite thing from the Eames page, however, is the Eames molded plastic rocker. I love a modern rocking chair and that one is done so well. Great giveaway, joy!

  203. Someday I would love to own any one of the walnut stools… elegant, versatile and timeless. Not to mention what a great match one would be to the lovely new version of the hang-it-all!

  204. My boyfriend and I are really big Eames fans. We have a tiny apartment in Chicago, and have been attempting to start a collection of “grown up” furniture. Our favorite thing to do is hit the antique markets and estate sales hoping to find some modern wonders. We have not had tons of luck yet, but our two favorites include a white Eames shell chair and a Wegner coffee table. I think the hang it all is beautiful and fun, and would love to hang my coat on it by our front door!

  205. This giveaway is pure fate for me-I’ve been loving the Eames Hang-it-all for some time now-but wasn’t thrilled with the color choice-although it was cute, it was not the right fit for my decor. But now this limited edition option is perfect!! I also have been loving the Eames elephant-been seeing it in nurseries and it looks so cute.

  206. Sadly- I have YET to acquire any official Eames items.. but I have a few Eames inspired things, and truly covet the classic molded plywood chair. It will be mine someday! (maybe even two!). šŸ™‚ I LOVE visiting their house in LA- such a treat to peak into the home & studio. If we had a smaller wedding- I would have jumped at the chance to have it on their property!

  207. How can I choose just one? I love the rocker and THIS very hang-it-all. Such a great giveaway!

  208. i absolutely love my white Herman Miller Eames Plastic Molded Rocker that i just got delivered to me last week! šŸ™‚ i’ve always imagined it in my future baby’s nursery even though i am not expecting (and not planning on it!) — i just couldn’t help but get it. i must say, the “hang it all” would look absolutely perfect next to the rocker… šŸ˜‰ hinthint.

  209. like quite a few of us (I think), I have the Eames molded rocker and it is probably one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. totally in love with it!

  210. We own white Eames molded plastic chairs. They are a favorite part of my house & furniture. We just moved to San Francisco into a smaller space than we had before, we are remaking our cute little Edwardian and I would absolutely love to have many Eames things, among them the walnut stool, the eames side tables (moving up on our get-it-soon list), and a plywood lounge chair – so classic.
The hang it all would be fantastic in our cool space, and we need storage and places to put things more than one could understand. San Francisco is a big adjustment in terms of space, but so worth it!

  211. Oh man I would kill for an Eames Lounge–or the plywood elephant! Not on a med student budget, though…

  219. I love the lounge chair, but I really lust for an aluminum management chair. I’m sure I would get so much work done if I had that!

  220. I have the upholstered rocker which I picked up at an estate sale. I’d love the hang-it-all. All our striped winter scarves would look splendid hanging on it!

  221. I love everything Eames! Especially the molded side chairs in aqua blue… I would love to own the hang it all in it’s new version! Thanks!

  222. I’d gladly add the EamesĀ® Molded Plywood Dining Chair, DCW, to my home!
    Cool giveaway, thanks!

  223. Hmmm so hard to decide. Unfortunately I do not currently own a piece but have some on my list of wants. I think I would have to go for the Eames chair and ottoman set. It is so amazing to look at and even better to relax in. šŸ™‚

  224. i love the molded plastic stacking side chairs! in light teal. i just love how they feel like the comforts of elementary school memories, plus the casual and modern feel they bring!

  225. I love the molded plastic rockers, but I desperately need a couch, so I’d go for the sofa compact (which I also love).

  226. I would like the EamesĀ® Molded Plastic Armchair in the blue-green color. So pretty! I am in love with that color right now.

  227. I’ve got a maple LCW chair in my living room. i love how wide it is … perfect for sitting cross-legged and meditating.

  237. I’ve been lusting after an Eames Hang-It-All for years. I actually asked for it for Christmas last year… but Santa must have lost my letter. I’m also coveting the Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair. It’s beautiful to have a chair made out of wood, and without padding to hide the wood. It brings part of the outdoors in, which make it extra-beautiful.

  238. I’ve always loved the Eames Lounge and Ottoman, but so many of the pieces are great!

  264. When we moved into first home, in San Francisco’s Sunset neighborhood last year, i ordered 6 EamesĀ® Molded Plastic 4 Leg Side Chair – in wafer. 266. My father sat in his Eames Lounge Chair every day for decades. It took on the essence of his personality. His personal imprint. Since inheriting the chair I love nothing more than to sit in it. The well worm arms and creased leather are beautiful to me. Imperfectly human.
My chair has a soul and it serves not only as the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in but as as an echo of my father for future generations.

  267. I would love to have the Poet Two-Seater Sofa for our newly refinished living space. I would be so lovely!

  292. my boyfriend and i are lucky enough to have a wonderful family that is not only super thoughtful but also super design savvy. last year, they made our design dreams come true and gave us a molded plywood chair. it is my favorite eames item and it makes me smile every day when i walk through the door!

  293. My husband and I are putting our new home together little by little, and our next bit will be the plastic dowel-leg chairs for our dining room. Great giveaway – thanks Joy and DWR!

  294. What an awesome giveaway!
My husband and I are HUGE Eames fans and actually bought the molded plywood coffee table as an anniversary gift to each other. It’s perfect for kid proofing, too, since it doesn’t have any sharp edges to watch out for!

  295. I love the Eames Molded plastic rocking chair, I’ve had my eye on this for a very long time. I think orange would be super cute!

  296. I really love the elephants and the wire ‘bikini’ chair!
I am unexpectedly moving to a new apartment in a new city and would love to be able to decorate with the hang-it-all!!

  297. eh…for some reason my post didn’t get full posted…
i <3 the eames molded plastic dowel leg side chair šŸ˜€
(pls disregard the previous incomplete post).

  298. I’m supposed to pick one thing? I guess that’s a good start, seeing as I can never afford more than that…. but I’ll have to go with the Saarinen executive armchair in red. Super cute and it looks quite comfy!

  299. Ahh, I love everything EamesĀ®!
But you asked me to pick, so I’m going to say the EamesĀ® Lounge and Ottoman. So classic and comfortable.

  300. I lived with one of the multi-colored hangers and how I do miss it! I’d adore this one even more.

  301. I started working at an auction gallery at the end of high school and while i found myself surrounded by beautiful 18th and 19th century antiques, I fell in love with mid-century modern, especially Eames designs for Herman Miller. My all time favorite piece is the Lounge and Ottoman, which I’m yet to acquire but I have wanted an Eames Hang it All since college.
I now work as a web interface designer & developer. I still find Eames design theories of form & function to influence my work everyday (while I sit on my HM Aeron Chair.) From colors, to form and texture, all of it is just so inspiring.
&& by the way, I love your blog!

  302. Goodness me…the Eames Molded Plastic Armchair (DAR) with the rod base has stopped my heart! Ever since I first saw her, I knew we would someday be together!

  303. I have an original Eames rocking chairs, and it is my very favorite piece of furniture. this hang-it-all would complement it perfectly!

  304. I have the 4×2 storage unit and my husband just bought me the house bird for my birthday. I love everything Eames!

  305. the molded plastic armchairs have always been my favorite. a simple way to add a bright punch of color to a room! what a fabulous giveaway! thanks for the opportunity!

  306. An Eames Lounge & Ottoman, in white leather. My parents had one when I was a kid but somehow it ended up in a (gasp!) garage sale, which pains me to this day. My mom claims it was broken, but still…

  307. I’m saving to buy up four molded plastic dowel leg side chairs to go with our formica dining table.

  308. I just bought an Eames DSR chair in Aqua sky! I cant wait to get it. I’d also love the 4×2 shelving units someday. Or a rocker. Sigh.

  309. I just bought a DSR in aqua sky from DWR recently! I can’t wait to get it! But I’d really love to get the 4×2 shelving unit someday. Or a rocker in white. Sigh.

  310. OH. My. Gosh. I would love ANYTHING Eames, but I’ve long been drooling over the dowel leg side chair. In any color. But anything. My gosh I hope I win šŸ™‚

  311. I Love Ray and Charles Eames. I am a graphic designer and my senior thesis revolved around their amazing designs, specifically the house of cards. I have always told my husband that I knew when I had made it, as a designer I would able to buy the Eames lounge chair and ottoman.
Thanks for the chance to win the hang it all!

  312. Who hasn’t always dreamed of finding one of the plastic moulded chairs at a garage sale. Still looking for one today!!!

  313. I would LOVE to have the limited edition hang-it-all, of course! But if I had to choose another item, I’d love the la chaise. That would look FANTASTIC in my living room!

  314. have: framed sheet of eames stamps.
want: furniture-wise, i would l-o-v-e a molded plastic chair, but really what i want is their videos! i have seen several but have been dying to see them all!

  315. Actually, the hang-it-all. I’ve had my eye on it since you posted it on the 17th. I’ve been looking for a coat rack or equivalent for the entryway of my new home and work studio. Oh- the lust. What a beautiful piece of functional art.

  316. I would have to go with the elephant! It comes in red too! They designed it to be plywood…so creative.

  317. I love the Eames House Bird. Birds are an integral part of the decoration of my apartment currently and this would be a great addition to my collection.

  318. I love the EamesĀ® Lounge and Ottoman. My parents had a knock off Eames lounge when I was little. It was my dad’s chair, but I would sneak in it and spin around when he wasn’t looking. I would love to have a real Eames chair in my first home.

  319. I would to have a set of the
EamesĀ® Molded Plastic Dowel Leg Side Chair for my dining room. My current set of mismatched wooden chairs just don’t pop like the Eames chairs would.

  320. I covet the molded plywood lounge chair. A good book, a cup of coffee and that chair…

  321. My husband and I are in love with Design within Reach! We stop in every store we can find. While vacationing in San Francisco last week, we had a small photo shoot in the store! We have already purchased some of the DWR Eames chairs for our kitchen table — but my husband is in love with the “Eames Aluminum Management Chair with Pneumatic Lift” for our home office. Time to save up!
I would love to be the winner of the Save It All giveaway, since we live in a small apartment that needs more creative storage solutions! Sold our house last year and we’re loving apartment life – would love to prove that you can have a small home that can still be sylish and comfortable!

  322. I would LOOOOOVE to have the Eames molded plastic rocker in my house for when I have children!

  323. Oh, to have an Eames lounge chair or a rocker… they’re the stuff design dreams are made of!

  324. My mom told me that she knew she wasn’t poor anymore when she didn’t have to look at the price of steak when she bought it.
I’ll know I’m comfortable when I can afford the Lounge and Ottoman. So beautiful. It’s at the very top of my wish list!

  325. The Molded Plywood Lounge chair is such a dream and so classic! I don’t know where I would put it, but I know I would love it forever!

  326. I am a dish maker and the last studio
I had came with an old, very well used Eames Lounge and Ottoman. I spent two years in that studio, working day and night while my beautiful puppy Hazel watched quietly from the comfort of that Lounge Chair. When things were going poorly we would snuggle together (or rather I would get the ottoman because she refused to move from the comfort of that chair).
Last year I bought a shell of a house in a not so lovely portion of Philadelphia. I have spent a year making do with a partially wired house…no hot water heater and some rather unpleasant smells. I recently (last week) moved my studio out of boxes and my dank basement and into an amazing light filled studio just 5 blocks from my house.Unfortunately the Lounge Chair and Ottoman molded over the course of last year and will not be able to make the trip to the new studio. As my partner and I set up shop again and really commit to this new neighborhood we would absolutely love to have a solid place to hang our hats.

  327. I don’t have any Eames pieces YET but I am saving up. My neighbour has an Eames molded plastic rocker and I often visit so I can drool over it. I would love the hang it all, me and my husband have wanted one for a while and we have the space ready and primed!

  328. IĀ“ve the eames shell chair with eiffel base from a very early production and really love it. I want to buy some other shells, maybe with rocking base…

  329. The year was 1984. I was a new mother and my husband was a new employee at Herman Miller Inc. in Zeeland,MI.Several other wives of employees asked me:”Did you get your rocker yet?” Apparently all employees with first babies received an Eames rocker as a gift.Upon further inquiry I learned that they stopped giving them out-IN 1983!!!!I still want that rocker-and the new Hang it All would look great above it!!

  330. I would love to have the 4×2 storage unit. Maybe once my daughter’s destructive Tasmanian Devil-ish play habits have subsided (or, I’ve squared away enough money for her college…whichever comes first).

  331. I’ve always wanted an LCW Chair! I love the curves and lines – it’s so classic. I might have to spring for one soon and this walnut hang-it-all would look lovely paired with one! šŸ˜€

  332. Oh wow! What an incredibly giveaway! thanks so much for this chance. Hmm.. what would I choose.. what would I choose? Eames Sofa – 2 Seat! My apartment is currently couchless and this would fit perfectly with the whole vibe of the place!

  333. Growing up my house was full of pieces from Design Within Reach, including six of the EamesĀ® Molded Plywood Dining Chairs. All of our furniture, including the dining chairs, were so unlike the country style furniture that most of my friends had, that my house was often labeled as weird and eccentric. I loved my modern house, no matter how unusual it may have been. To this day the chairs continue to be a signature statement in our dining room.

  334. I love the molded plywood dining chairs. They remind me of vintage school desk chairs, but a bit more sleek.

  335. I would love to have the Molded Plywood Dining Chairs sitting around our dining room table someday…

  336. While I love the storage units, I think if I could pick just one piece, I’d go for the iconic lounge and ottoman. The chairs are truly comfortable and highly functional in the way they use material.

  337. I would love to own the Eames La Chaise– it’s so sculptural, and it’s one of the Eames pieces you don’t see too often. Maybe it’s because it costs almost $10,000… oh well, a girl can dream!

  338. I love the Hang-It-All the most! it would look lovely in my home. I would be so lucky to win! Thanks for the chance

  339. The molded plywood coffee table. Most definitely!! Although, my daughter’s Blythe doll would look rather snazzy kicking back in the miniature lounge chair with her feet upon the ottoman!

  340. I would have to pick the mini Eames LCM chair or the plywood elephant; either would be perfectly at home in my studio <3

  341. Yay! I love the new hang-it-all! I also love the Eames Molded Plastic Dowel Leg Side Chair…don’t own it yet, but will someday.

  342. I have been obsessed for years over the plywood lounge chair. I settled for a look-alike from West Elm, but it just isn’t the same. Until I have the means to finally get my hands on one, I feel like my living space is incomplete.

  343. I love the Eames’ style – particularly La Chaise. Thanks for the chance to win one of their beautiful pieces!

P.S. I love this feed I check it daily via my rss feed.

  346. Oh I love them so much. I did a bunch of research on them last semester and ate it all up – their design philosophy, love of fun, love for each other – all of it. If I could pick one of their pieces from the DWR site it would be the 2-seat sofa. Love.

  347. wow thanks. I like the eames wire chair and plywood chair! would love to have any of their pieces in my home!

  349. Oooh I just saw the hang-it-all yesterday and loved it. But I’ve really always lusted after those walnut stools!

  350. I’ve always loved the classic Eames rocker, but my husband would quickly say 1st we’d have to get the Eames lounger…both are beautiful classics!

  351. i would be happy to own any Eames piece!
i have always loved the rockers… it’s so difficult to pick out just one!

  352. oh man. i’d go for the lounger, no contest. it’s such an icon. how could i resist?
thanks for the giveaway! i hope i win! šŸ™‚

  353. I love the new walnut hang-it-all! I really wish I had an Eames lounge chair. I have a Plycraft Mulhauser chair which I love but it’t not quite the same.

  354. This is a fun giveaway!! My husband has been obsessed with the Eames molded plastic chairs for some time now – we use them at our dining room table, as side chairs in the corner of our living room, and I think we may even have a few in our laundry room. He has found them ALL on ebay, quite a hunter that man is! I would love to add the Eames lounge chair to our collection – as I love the more sophisticated look, and who wouldn’t want to come home, sit and relax in that exquisite chair!

  355. I want the ELEPHANT! After riding on elephants in Thailand and Nepal, I have a love affair with them!

  356. i have always loved the EamesĀ® Molded Plastic Dowel Leg Side Chair- they have so many iconic pieces that go unnoticed for so much of our childhood that once you learn about the Eames’ it’s like your eyes are opened to all these amazing designs that have surrounded you for so much of your life!

  402. My first office at Herman Miller was in the Pavilion Building in Grandville,MI (a few miles from H.M.’s Mainsite building in Zeeland,MI).The Pavilion was an amazing space where examples of nearly every chair, table or storage unit [produced by H.M.] either hung whimsically from the ceiling or was suspended out from the walls or appeared to float above the floors. It was a time and place of unparalleled creativity. While many companies make furniture, only one company makes furniture that holds its own in the realm of art. That was and is Herman Miller.Kudos to them for this beautiful version of the Hang it All rack and to DWR and Joy for making one available to someone. My first and favorite piece? The Eames lounge and ottoman, favored by my wife and me (and the dachshunds)!

  447. For their wedding, three friends pooled $25 to buy my grandparents the Eames molded plywood chair. 60 years later it still sits in my grandparent’s living room. That is the chair I dream of having, to remind me how interested my grandmother was in mid-century design as it was blossoming (she taught commercial art in the 1950s).
I am also waiting anxiously for my 4 aqua sky molded plastic side chairs to arrive– the first Eames purchase of my own!

  467. I posted comments a few days ago, but they are not showing up, so I will try again just in case, because I can not miss out on the Eames hang all. We have the molded white plastic chairs in our dining room, timeless & favorite chairs in the house. We just relocated to San Francisco and our neat Edwardian is super cute, but in dying need of more furniture & space savers. I have always wanted the Eames molded plywood chair, the lounge, and the cute little side table in white. I swear I could get 4 of those and find spots all over the house for them to help keep things organized. I am especially obsessed with this new Eames wood hang all. The texture is beautiful.
