Hello, dear friends. We just got back from our coastal road trip vacation…a few days away definitely did my brain some good! I'll post more about the trip next week, but for now, I leave you with this wild and wonderful diamond-patterned grassy ground at the Solage in Calistoga. I snapped this photo before we headed out to dinner and can't stop thinking about how amazing it would be if all sidewalks looked like this!
Thanks again for all your nice comments and support for my new wallpaper line! Stay tuned next week as we launch a new column {and a new contributor}! Have a great weekend all!

Hi Kara!
They are the Carlys from Kate Spade 😉

We’re doing a similar trip starting Labor Day weekend in LA, driving down to La Jolla and then back up to LA. Can’t wait to hear about your trip. I hope you’ll include a few must do/see stops along the way 🙂

that’s an adorable photo. love the shoes and the mix grass.
cuuuuuuuute shoes…
and sidewalks too (which I’ve never called a sidewalk “cute” but it really is!):).
This is beyond fabulous in so many ways!! I love alternatives to just cement or just grass, and this is one of the best…I’d have an entire patio done like this if I could! And your shoes! I could die!! Those sweet little dazzling bows and your perfectly polished toes peeking out! Thanks for giving me the best smile of my day so far!
xoxo
Hope Ava
Oh yes, wouldn’t it be lovely if all sidewalks looked like that! Imagine the difference it would make in a city like Boston or New York!!
Fabulous! And so are those SHOES!!! Lovely!!
love that your twinkly toes are in the picture too! 🙂
Love this. We have a path in a park nearby that’s like this, but less well kept!
beautiful and I LOVE the shoes!

Welcome back to LA LA Land! There’s no place like home…
love this photo. it has such a story to it. and your shoes are delightful!
I saw a driveway like this but in reverse, it was so pretty.
Very cool photo and I love your shoes!
Nice shot, love this stuff-it’s called Turfstone aptly enough-check out http://www.idealconcreteblock.com/pdf/Turfstone.pdf-
I think it’s about 2 something a square foot and good for the environment too b/c it allows rainwater to seep back into the ground instead of flowing into a storm drain that can lead to overflow at the water treatment plant-stinky-thinking of installing it as a path from our studio to our house
So funny – I knew exactly where the photo was taken the moment I jumped on your blog – I took the same photo on my way out to dinner too!
Luv that look!
Danielle
eeee! your little toes peeking in on this photo are adorable!
Love this. Warmly, Karen
Very nice shot! with fairy shoes and so cute nails!!

That is an absolutely stunning photo! Enjoy your little break, getting away is so unbelievably refreshing isn’t it?
Hope you enjoyed your trip! I just discovered Solage a few weeks ago as a day spa and enjoyed it very much. They have the same patterned grassy treatment at the Dia Beacon – have you been?
I want to experience that kind of enjoyment too. 🙂

Did you take a roadtrip to my driveway, because this looks an awful lot like my driveway. You should have knocked and said hello! I would have brought out lemonade 😉
