Since we're in the process of decorating our new place over the next few months, I thought it would be fun to share my plans for each room as we progress. Here's a sketch and inspiration of the first room I'm working on…the dining room!

main pieces above: Oh Joy for Hygge & West petal pusher wallpaper in gold (using a temporary application for our rental), Ikea pendant that the former tenant left, CB2 darjeeling dining table, Eames dowel leg chairs, and Woolly pockets (affixed to a frame for a rental).

optional accessories: Ute placemats, Anthropologie silverware, Jonathan Adler whale pitcher, Seletti milk jug, Le Creuset braiser, and Stray Dog floor lamp.

  1. Hi Joy, I love this rustic glam in a treehouse look. I saw one of your photos on Pinterest and thought it would probably inspire something like this for your new place!
We have those Eames chairs in our dining room, and we love them. Everyone always comments on how comfy they are too.

  2. Totally love this look and I love the name “rustic glam in a treehouse.” I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with totally esoteric names that only a few people can decipher. Mine is like “1960s Los Angeles Bungalow in a Mexican bodega.”

  3. LOVELY! My husband has this old table that he’s had his computers, etc., on FOREVER…but it would make a great dining room table and your table totally reminds me of it.
I can’t wait to see your finished remodel!

  4. this is looking so lovely! can’t wait to see it come together. the whale pitcher is my absolute FAVE! thanks for your excellent blog — i’m certainly a fan.
