Funny. The collective consciousness must be at work. I bought a two year membership to Marukai, the S.Cal. Japanese grocery chain the other day and the amazing selection of pickled vegetables they carry was a predominant reason.
Been pickling for the past two summers (large cucumber yield). Love experimenting with flavors though it is a lot of work. Canning for a new generation is really useful, I own it and refer to it a lot. For all you pickle lovers out there try McClure’s pickles…the best pickles out there!

mmmmmm! I love pickled anything. My grandmother used to grow and jar bread-and-butter pickles. Eating them was the highlight of of every visit!
