While I've always loved food and the "idea" of cooking, when I lived by myself in my Brooklyn studio apartment, I rarely cooked meals for myself. There's something much more fun about cooking for {and enjoying the meal with} someone else. I really got excited to experiment more with cooking once I got married and had someone to taste test my food concoctions. So, I love the concept behind Sarah Copeland's Newlywed Cookbook. With recipes catered towards modern couples looking to spend quality time together in the kitchen, it has me hyperventilating with gorgeous photos by Sara Remington and the tastiest looking recipes by Sarah. This now tops my list as the go-to gift for newly engaged friends… — Joy

i have been giving the bride and groom cookbook from williams sonoma for years, always a hit but will check this one out as an update.
I especially love that photo of the pile of cookies.
We have one similar to that but haven’t used it together–this is great motivation to get cooking together. PS..I’m your newest follower 🙂
I too love the williams sonoma cookbook, but this looks incredibly too! Those yogurt berry pancakes? Gorgeous. Good to know it’s out there.
Oh wow the photography is gorgeous! This looks like a great book.
This looks like a great buy! I just got married myself and I’m finding that I always tend to cook the same thing week after week. Gotta get out of that rut and this might be the answer!
Thanks so much for the post, Joy! I’m honored! And, you picked some of my absolute fave recipes from the book. {and some of Sara’s most gorgeous images ~ though there’s plenty more where that came from. Isn’t she amazing?} To the readers, this book is chock full of farm-to-table goodies, easy advice for growing your own, menus for entertaining and for making your kitchen the heart of your nest. Meat lovers and vegetarians {like my hubby} will all find something to love! I hope it brings new inspiration and JOY to your kitchen. 🙂
That is actually a brilliant gift idea! Ten points for you!!!
What a beautiful type treatment on the cover too! I didn’t realize you lived in Brooklyn when you were younger… Is there an area you would recommend?
Yummm! I can eat the pancakes right off the screen. Newlywed or not, I can make these for the rest of my life! 🙂

The Newlywed Cookbook is simply amazing! I received a copy on my doorstep on Christmas Eve. There are so many wonderful recipes and helpful hints. The photography is absolutely gorgeous. I have never owned a cookbook more inspiring-not only for cooking but for living everyday life with the one you love. This is truly a must-have!

Man I have a ton of friends getting ready to tie the knot – this is so perfect! (And here’s hoping that when I meet my own Mr. Right that my desire to be domestic will finally kick in…)

Oh, you make it so hard to stay away from those evil carbs 🙂
It’s pretty awesome that they put the man sandwich in a cookbook…
What a great idea for a book. Maybe I should remarry my husband… to have a reason to buy this.
