Silvanas-filipino-cookie

Silvanas-filipino-cookie

While in San Francisco, I came across Filipino silvana cookies for the first time at an ice cream shop, and I'm kind of in love. It's a crunchy, creamy, frozen cookie with butter cream sandwiched between two cashew-meringue wafers and coated with cookie crumbs. It looks like a bigger, flatter French macaron, but it's lighter, melts-in-your mouth, and is kind of refreshing {which you don't often say about a cookie}. I had the coconut {above}, chocolate, and mocha-flavored silvanas…yum! Now, I just need to find them locally… — Joy

  1. Those are my favorites too! There’s a place called house of silvanas in LA and you can also get them at goldilocks for red ribbon (Filipino bakeries) 🙂

  2. do you remember the name of the place you found these? or perhaps the neighborhood? pretty sure I need these in my life asap.

  3. I wish shipping is not so expensive so I’d ship to you lots of silvanas. 🙂 We eat a lot of that here in the Philippines. I love silvanas with nuts though, they’re crunchier.

  4. Oh, thank you for reminding me to get some silvanas and sans rival! Haven’t had them in a long time… yum!!!! I will check out Cako Creamery!

  5. oh, you must go to silvana’s! my parents opened a restaurant right next door to one of their south san francisco shops and the owners are adorable and just as sweet. 🙂
