Even though I've always loved using color and pattern in my work, I used to be really scared of mixing-and-matching patterns or overdoing it on color in my wardrobe. But lately, I've been playing a game with myself to see how much of either I can wear from head-to-toe. It's a really fun challenge to figure out how many colors I can really wear at once and not look crazy. Or, what's the best mix of patterns that still work together?

With color, I try and stick to shades with similar saturation levels for the top or bottoms, and then a brighter pop with one of the pieces {shoes or bag in this case}. For pattern, a mix of scales is always best. And when you've got something really colorful, I love to tone it down with a neutral pattern so the focus can be on the most colorful piece of the outfit. Here are a couple combos I'm really loving, and I love how they could be mixed and matched if all color or all pattern is a bit too much for you. What do you think?
