happy friday + 9 months with ruby…

Ruby-9month2

Ruby-9month2

You guys…seriously, where does the time go? The number of months it took to grow a baby in my belly has already passed in the number of months she's been growing outside as a tiny little person. Ruby's hair is long enough for pigtails {yay! no more "what's 'his' name?"}, her personality is really coming out {such a happy baby but also stubborn and sensitive}, and this whole mom thing is really starting to seem real {though I still find myself looking at her amazed that we made this person}. So, I wish my little munchkin a happy 9 months…and before you know it, I'll be sharing her one year photo with you {and then I will cry thinking about her going off to college!} Have a great weekend, friends, full of all the loves of your life {big and little}… — Joy

  1. She is so sweet and you are right, time flies. Even though people always say to cherish the moments because before you know it they will be grown – it is so true. I can hardly believe my babies are 7 and almost 5!!

  2. I love those little ponies! My niece is 2 and still has very little hair, but she’s starting to ask for barrettes and pigtails so my sister is so excited. Even though she wears mainly pink with little butterflies or bows, people always think she’s a boy!

  3. I am wishing so hard I have carefully documented by babies developmental changes. I have tons of photographs of my two daughters but now that they’re 4 (turning 5) and 2 years old when I look at a picture I can no longer tell how many months old they were when it was taken. Alas, I could have done something similar to this. Sometimes, it feels that they do not change a lot from month to month but looking at Ruby’s monthly picture- goodness! what difference. Time flies indeed.

  4. Happy 9 months to Ruby & mama! She is just soo adorable and happy. It’s been so nice being able to share in your little journey. Love that our girls are so close in age!

  5. She is adorable! My son is weeks away from turning one, and I am starting to freak out! Pregnancy seemed to take forever, and now time is flying by.

  6. I know the feeling – my boy just turned 10 weeks old and I feel like I was pregnant just yesterday! Thanks for the inspiration for the photo project – I’ve only 2 to date but it’s amazing to see how he’s grown. Much love to your sweet Ruby. She is such a cutie pie!

  8. Isn’t it amazing how fast time flies when you become a mom? It seemed like time was at a stand still until I got pregnant and now it never stops! My guy is almost 8 months and already trying to take steps without holding onto the couch and I think about how small he used to be. Happy 9 months sweet babe!

  9. Arghh Joy – I love your photos of Ruby <3 - wish we had made that with my little Hector-boy too - he is 4 month now an you are so right - time goes by too fast!
Happy 9 month to Ruby- I love her pigtails and the sweet yellow dress!

  10. Ruby is absolutely adorable and i love her name.
I wanted to tell you, I took a trip to Europe last week, and in a bookstore across from the Galleria dell’Academia in Florence, I found a little book of yours full of stickers and labels! I squealed a little bit and showed it to my friend and had to explain all about how I read your blog and love your food photos. I thought it was a pretty neat moment, finding you all the way in Italy 🙂

  11. look at her! she is so sweet. my little nevie girl is one month older, full of sas. can’t wait till we can do pigtails. Joy, your blog is the best…it really does bring me joy. such colour! thank you.

  12. Hi Katie,
Thank you re: Ruby and for your kind note about my label set you came across! I had no idea it was in Italy – so thats a fun surprise for me too! 😉
    Best,

  13. First, I enjoy perusing your blog. What fun!
Second, congrats to little Ruby! My little Nina turned 10 months on Friday so I can sympathize with your marvelling at how fast time does fly.
Third, I’d love to know what hair bows and accessories you’re fond of now that Ruby’s hair is long enough.
    Thanks!

  23. OMG she’s so cute! Love the way she put her feet together in the month 5 pic. My little boy crosses his legs all the time. I think you could have gotten away with giving her a Pebbles pig tail on the top of her head at month 4. Hee hee. Too cute!
