My 4-part series with Splendid this week was my way giving you a peek into my summer as well as sharing ways that I love mixing and matching pattern and color in my outfits while enjoying my favorite summer activities. The finale in the series has all been leading up to a fun contest that I'm super excited to be hosting and sharing with you all. I've never done a contest on Oh Joy before, but I'm pretty psyched about what's up for grabs…

The grand prize is: an Apple iPad in a Clare Vivier for Splendid case, a $500 Splendid gift card, Splendid skin care products, and a Splendid towel and bag with an approximate retail value of $1275.

There will also be 3 runner-up prizes that include: $250 Splendid gift card, Splendid skin care products, and a Splendid towel and bag with an approximate retail value of $480 each.

Here's how to enter:

1. Follow Splendid on Pinterest.

2. Create a Pinterest board called "Splendid Summer" that epitomizes your ideal summer. It can include food, fashion, travel, DIY, inspirational images, or anything that tells us what means summer to you. You can even upload your own photos, snapshots, or bits of summer inspiration from your own life. Make sure to tag your images with #splendidsummer. Here's my Splendid Summer board as an example for you.

3. Once you've created your board, leave a comment on this post with a link to your "Splendid Summer" Pinterest board. Please do not leave your email or web address in the body of the comment, only in the allotted boxes.

Entries must be received by 11:59pm PST on August 7, 2012. I will select one winner and three runners-up by August 21st. You can see here for a full image of the prizes and contest details.     Summer to me means spending a lot of time with friends and family, lots of outdoor activities, backyard BBQs, picnics, beaching, cute outfits to keep cool and eating lots of delicious food 🙂

  209. I am usually not a huge summer fan because of the heat but this summer I get the share it with my new little princess! This summer is filled with walks at sunrise, beach blankets under the trees, trying out new recipes and sharing kisses with my sweet little Chickie! I LOVE summer now!

    I would love to be able to use the technology for my classroom! My deaf students are visual learners and I have found some awesome apps thanks to Pinterest that I could use with them for active learning to keep them engaged! What a blessing!

    When I think of summer… I think of sand, sunlight, whimsical whites with pops of color, a salty breeze, foaming waves, the smell of suntan lotion, painting my toes, late night movies, napping on a hammock, cloud watching and star gazing, family bbqs, and blanket soft grass…. oh, such a splendid, splendid summer indeed!!
    As a photographer, the sounds, smells, and sights of summer inspire my work throughout the year!! It would be such an honor to win!

  814. As a long time fan of Splendid, but new reader to Oh Joy I was quite excited to see this contest going on! As recent college graduate looking for a job, I took this opportunity to use my Splendid Summer board to turn my “what if’s” & wishes of an ideal summer into actually doing the things I pinned while I still I had the time:). Along the way I pinned Spendid clothes that I would wear when doing those activities again in the future with other fun summer accessories!:) Thanks again for doing this!

  842. I had so much fun creating my board! I just had surgery on my spine about a month ago, so the majority of my summer has been spent either in a hospital bed or on my couch, recovering and learning to walk again. Creating this board brought back so many memories of past summers, and it made me feel like I was living them again. I just pinned everything that I would have done this summer if I wasn’t incapacitated, and everything that I WILL be able to do next summer. If nothing else, it distracted me from my pain and my boredom for a few days! Thanks for the inspiration!

  877. Here’s to a h/h/h [hazy, hot & humid!] summer in Southwest Florida -it’s 75 and sunny the rest of the year, so I suppose can deal with three months of oppressive heat, daily thunderstorms [I actually like those!] and the sense that everything is melting or dripping in some way:)
    My Pinterest board makes it look much more palatable . . . if only I could find a delicate, delectable picture of deodorant, if just for honesty’s sake!!
