Oh Joy | How I'd Wear Patterned Boots

While on the East Coast last week, I was reminded of how much I miss the fall weather with its brisk cold air and that occassional rainfall. While I certainly can't complain about L.A. weather, I do miss stomping around in rain boots! I've recently become obsessed with these Loeffler Randall rain booties because they feel like they can be worn even after the sprinkles subside. Combined with a fun, graphic umbrella and a gorgeous scarf, here's my outfit of choice to wear with a fun pair of patterned boots.

1. Marimekko umbrella, 2. Scarf Shop scarf, 3. Trench coat from A-Thread (I've been wearing this everywhere lately!), 4. J.Crew blouse, 5. Apolis Market bag, 6. J.Crew jeans, 7. Loeffler Randall rain booties.*

ps. See you tonight Los Angeles! *Also, Loeffler Randall has kindly offered an early friends & family preview for Oh Joy readers: receive 20% off ALL purchases through this Saturday. Use code OHJOY20 at checkout!).

  1. I love the outfit, and the illustration is adorable. All the items shown are very pricey tho…, unfortunately average women can’t afford most of them. Would be great to show some high street equivalence once in a while? just an idea. Love your blog!

  2. YAY a new illustrated fashion post! I love the scarf! Also thanks for the intro to a thread cute jewelry 🙂
Patterned umbrellas are always fun too

  3. Great outfit Joy!!! I hope we don’t cross paths on a rainy day, because I’ll be wearing the same!!! 😉
I’m down some $$$, after this post.
    Love your blog

  4. Love this outfit. I have these booties and they sit so pretty in their box. I keep trying to wear them but just feel silly every time I put them on. 🙁 They go with the outfits but I feel like they make my feet look big. This outfit is really cute though and might be enough motivation for me to make it out of the house in them (or also a nice rain storm).

  5. Hi Joy –
I recently picked up your book Blog inc. and have found it to be a great inspiration in thinking through how to build a creative outlet for myself! Thanks so much for gathering all yours (and others) thoughts and putting it in such a digestible place.

  6. Hi Jess,
Thanks for your note! I always try and include a mix of price points and include at least one piece that is extra affordable.
    Best!

  7. This outfit is so perfect and stunning. You make, what otherwise might be an intimidating piece, look effortless. I just started following your blog and every post I’ve read makes me smile and feel inspired.
    Cheers!
