Happy Friday, friends! The other day, I came across this photo last night of my friend Kelley and me from two years ago, taken while we were working together on a shoot, and I found myself smiling. Smiling because I miss her and love that she wanted to fill a swimming pool with a million blow-up flamingos, but also smiling because it makes me really feel so lucky to have such talented friends. I fully believe in surrounding yourself with people who are like-minded, but also who challenge and inspire you to be bigger and better at what you do. To have found that in friends multiple times over is something I am truly so grateful for. And, when you accidentally match…well, then, it's meant to be…
Have a great weekend! Hope it's filled with those who inspire you most…
P.S. Thanks so much to everything who came out to my Austin book party last night! You guys were so kind!

Hi Joy,
I so agree with you! It’s really a chance to have friends that inspire us and to be surrounded by people who have the same ideals and goals.
Oh, I would like to say that I love the motive on the top of your blog page. It’s inspiring! I love embroidery and I also do it. 🙂
Have a nice day!

So beautiful!!
So sweet and so true, as I get older I notice I’m constantly ‘narrowing’ my friend pool and really nurturing the kind of relationships you are talking about here. I’m VERY lucky that I have my blogging partner, Emilia, as she is the epitome of a friend that delights and inspires me!

Aw, this picture and your story make me so happy. You are so right! It was so nice to meet you in person last night, Joy! You’re just as adorable in person as you are on your blog. Have a great weekend!
I just got your book in the mail yesterday, and read a good bit of it last night. Today, on my blog Cozy Inspiration, my second blog about bloggers and blogging, I recommended it to my readers. I like the way it is laid out and am impressed. I was a professional writing major in college, so checked it out pretty thoroughly before purchasing. Thanks for a great book!
