You know I love food truck nights (it's a great excuse to not have to cook dinner!). We religiously go to On The Lot in Los Feliz every Monday night, and I'm pretty giddy for the summer season and more pop-up food truck events. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, a new one opened up on Wednesday nights on the grounds of what used to be a gas station. The Service Station is an outdoor creative space that has pop-up shops, outdoor movie nights on Saturdays, and a food truck night on Wednesdays. While the food trucks seem to be a rotation of same three, they're solid ones that I really like.
Some of my favorites include the bacon mac n' cheese from the Flatiron Truck…
…and parmesan pesto fries and gooey s'mores from The Munchie Machine. We got coconut and salted Caramel S'mores, and they were the perfect way to end our meal. The Mandoline Grill truck (food not shown) is also at The Service Station, and they make great banh mi and Vietnamese noodle dishes.
The area is painted with accents of mint green…um, hello, gorgeous color!
The best part is the huge areas of astroturf for the kids to run around in and the giant bean bags they put out. Ruby has the best time playing with her friends after dinner. It's just a great spot for all of us to enjoy the amazing warm weather and have an easy breezy mid-week dinner.

UPDATE: Sadly, a few days after this post, I got an email that city permits made it such that they had to close. They are trying to reopen in another area in the near future. 🙁

Reminds me of Marfa. Awesome.
This looks so delicious. Since we are in SF, I’m totally in love with food trucks. We have some places like SOMA Street Food Park and Off The Grind, where you can eat amazing food. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
I love food trucks too! Looks like you picked up some good selections. The photo of that mac and cheese looks delicious!

Groan – bang mi!!! I can’t get enough of that stuff!
Our silly city has a stupid by-law where they only allow a certain amount of food trucks in per year… they just revised it last fall and handed out a few more permits… but still!!! iz crazy rule, non? Essentially it means we’re light years behind in the food truck industry.. and consequently also my palate is less refined. Boo!
*lol : “bang” mi – that’s an unfortunate typo if I’ve ever made one.
ahem: baNH mi is what I meant 😮
Hello !
I like very much the shoes of your baby on the last photo (with the black pouffe), can you say to me where you to find them?
Thank you very much!

Wow, this sounds like a great place to be. Pesto fries and coconut and salted Caramel S’mores are all things I haven’t had before, but sound SOOO GOOOD!! The Vietnamese noodle dishes sound yummy too!
I’ve been sick lately and haven’t really been able to indulge in anything good. Instead I just keep buying/collecting sweets that I can’t yet have. How sad.
such a fun ‘venue’ and can’t get enough of food trucks 🙂
Those fries look amazing!!!
so fun!! sounds like a perfect weekly tradition.
Parmesan pesto fries?! OMG, I see a re-create in my future! Awesome.. so WISH I lived in LA because I would be all over these food trucks with you!
Oh, Ratz! We just walked by there today and saw all the posters, and we’re like, “We’ll be there Wednesday”! Now, they’re really closed? Man it seems like anything good, the city has to come in and ruin it. If they find a new location it will probably be on the Westside, where I don’t usually hang out. Bummer.
YUM! That all looks so delicious. Food trucks are so great, we have some really awesome ones here in Denver…quick, relatively inexpensive, and DELICIOUS!
