happy friday + 21 months with ruby…

The last few months have been the most fun I've had yet in my time as a mom. Ruby's verbal skills astound me every day as I watch her little mind process more and more. She says things like, "Have a good day!," "Peace out!," and "More noodles, please," while also learning the meaning behind phrases like "Sorry, Mama…" and "Oh no!" She responds to us more like this little kid she's becoming and less like the baby she's growing out of.

I hope you guys have a great weekend! We're going to the beach, which we rarely do. I need to take advantage of it while the summer's still young!

P.S. Ruby from 15-18 months!

{Ruby's clothes: 19-month romper is DVFxGap, 20-month dress by Thief & Bandit, 21-month leggings by Candy Kirby.}

  1. Hahaha! What a great way to start my morning.
    Today: “Peace out.” Tomorrow: she’ll be hanging with her “peeps” in the “hizzouse” and spouting off phrases like “this be cray-cray.” I give her another year. Tops.

  2. Too cute! I started following your posts for all the food & design ideas you have, but now that I’m expecting my own little girl soon, reading the posts about Ruby have made me even more excited for when this little one comes in December. Thanks!

  3. aww… she’s adorable! my kiddo’s almost 22 months, and it’s so fun hearing all his new words and how he can string together short sentences.

  4. I love her! She’s just so precious and a true gift. I hope you have a fun LA weekend. I live in LA too & so close to the beach and rarely go. I should probably take advantage of it, right?

  5. cutie patootie insanity! ruby is adorable! “peace out” … oh kids say the cutest things…! love that thief and bandit dress, too! i ordered a few of her bibs for my little dude! xo

  6. Not only do I love watching Ruby grow in these pictures {and hearing her little voice..OMG} but I love that your accessories behind the couch change in every one! Too cute!

  7. Hi Joy I watch your blog for 3 years .. I’m 30 years old and I’m from Poland. I’m with my husband already 14 years (I met him when I was 17 years old) and my daughter is a month older than yours. Sometimes it seems to me that we have so much in common. I keep my fingers crossed for your success and for your family and I will keep checking to know what progress does Ruby … Recently I ordered your book Although it will take a month consignment can not I wait for her
