Some people collect souvenirs, but one of my favorite things to collect is a print from various cities I've lived or have visited. They'd be amazing all on one large wall or simply hung in various areas of the home…

  1. I love this idea, Joy! My family members always bring me back mugs when they travel because I’m an avid tea-drinker…. but now I have way too many mugs! I like the idea of collecting prints. My niece collects snow globes from every destination. 🙂

  11. Original idea, I like it very much ! I always take collect soft toy from the places I’ve visited !

  12. Tammis Keefe also has some fun place-themed scarves that would look beautiful framed! I found some great ones on etsy and ebay.

  13. A beautiful plan! I love it. I just came across the book ‘All The Buildings In New York (that I have drawn so far), its a beautiful illustration project from a Sydney artist, James Gulliver Hancock, it is worth a look.
    🙂

  14. Those maps you show us are beautiful! When I bookmarked you page, I was 4 pages down your website, meaning that each time I come on your page, I see first an older blog … which is fun because I read it again, or sometimes I had missed it and I’m glad I can see it now … and today, the 4th page post was about “Beautiful Maps” (June 6th) … so it was fun to see how you DEFINITELY love maps! 🙂 which I do too!

  15. Love your picks, Joy! A couple of years ago I started collecting prints or reproductions when I travel. They weight a lot less than many other souvenirs. I especially love prints that show local landmarks. It’s like collecting an interpretation of a postcard or a map that you would normally see at souvenir shops.

  16. I’ve been working on a gallery wall with watercolors I’ve bought in places I’ve visited. I’d love to add pieces like this to it!

  17. that is super cool! I always tried to find illustrative artists of maps and cities, but i never know where/how to search… looking on google wasn’t helpful for me… where did you find these ones you have posted?

  18. I love this idea. Just fell in love with archie’s press from Portland and hope to add some of his prints to our collection. Never thought of it as a travel souvenir. Brilliant!
