a {little} halloween inspiration…

Real Simple | Ice Cream Sundae Halloween Costume | Oh Joy

Real Simple | Ice Cream Sundae Halloween Costume | Oh Joy

Okay, so I know Halloween seems kind of far away…but I had to share this costume cuteness from Real Simple. Ruby was one of the little kiddos that played dress-up in a homemade costume for the magazine's annual feature. She's dressed as her favorite treat…an ice cream sundae! Check out the how-to for Ruby's costume and the other dressed-up cuties right here. Thanks so much to Real Simple for having us join the fun!

P.S. She takes after her mama!

  1. this just brightened up my morning before I drag myself out of bed for classes. she looks SO happy to be an ice cream sundae, too cute!

  2. Cutest ice cream sundae I’ve ever seen – and I’ve seen some pretty great ones! 😉
Can’t believe it’s already time to be thinking about Halloween, crazy how time goes by so fast!

  3. I love it! Ironically my husband put our son in his Halloween shirt this morning! Your post made me laugh! Thanks for sharing! Hope you enjoy your day! 🙂

  4. oh gosh, so cute! we’re planning on going as breakfast this year. hubs as bacon, my one year old as toast and myself and my pregnant belly as eggs. over easy 🙂

  5. This is adorable! We made a similar costume (except it was a cupcake) for my daughter a few years ago. I wish I could get my other daughter to wear it now that she is big enough!!

  6. This is so adorable! A very sweet costume for a little girl. I don’t think August is too early at all to start Halloween costumes. My 3 year old has requested to be a “cheese monster,” and although I have it sketched out and approved, it will probably take me all two months to make it!

  7. Oh is she precious! Love the costume. I’m looking for instructions to make an infant donut costume (my son wants to be a policeman, and I figured I’ll make the baby a donut but I can’t find a costume!) – any suggestions?
She it too cute. Enjoy her!

  8. I’m working on something very similar for my friend’s little girl for this year. I’m going off of the How To from Real Simple. I just hope it turns out even half as cute your Ruby looks!!
