It can be really hard to find good breakfast spots that are open during the week. So when the new L.A. hot spot, République, decided to offer breakfast in addition to dinner, I had to see what it was all about. And, guys, I am hooked. While they don't serve savory breakfasts yet, the sweet breakfast they offer is off the chain. These are some of the best pastries I've had in Los Angeles. Period. Crème brûlée donuts, canelés, cookies, éclair, homemade breads…all so fresh and melt-in-your-mouth good. Get ready to drool…

The space itself is gorgeous, too. It's light and airy and full of beautiful, architectural details…

They also have some of the most comforting morning beverages like Hong Kong Milk Tea, Vietnamese Coffee, and a slew of others that aren't your everyday coffee and tea selections. I've been there twice in the last week if that says anything…

  1. looks delish! will have to try next time I’m in LA. Joy, I just finished Blog Inc and I already plan on reading it again because it was so informative and helpful. Just wanted to say thanks!

  2. yummy. The cheese? lemon? bun looks really yummy to me. We have a fantastic donut place here in town that does fresh baked/fried donuts and eclairs, cinnamon buns and danish. We limit ourselves to no more than once a week or when company comes. Love it!

  3. Wow, all that light! Lovely photos as always. I had been curious about Republique and now that I know they have donuts AND Vietnamese coffee, this place has moved way up on the must-try list! Thanks!

  4. Those donuts and pastries look good!! Great place especially with the milk tea that I love! Must try when I’m in town. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I’ve been on the fence about this place after hearing some so so dinner reviews, but I’m so much more into breakfast and it is only a few blocks from my house, so after your review I’m running there ASAP. Can’t wait to try those pastries! let me know if you need company at your next visit 🙂
