Eggslut Los Angeles

Eggslut Los Angeles

One of my favorite things in life is an egg sandwich for breakfast. There is something so soothing, so filling, and so wholesome about having eggs in the morning. It feels like a somewhat healthy meal (even if surrounded by butter and crispy bacon). I've visiting the Eggslut truck before, but so happy they now have an actual location open every day of the week at Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles.

And then this coddled egg over potato purée poached in a glass jar—it's like savory breakfast by the spoonful. If you're an egg lover or egg sandwich fan, you must go. They have one of the best egg sandwiches I've had (and I've had a lot of them).

  1. Such an original name!! Love it! And I love egg sandwiches but they don’t love me 😉 I’ve come to the realisation that now that I’m in my mid-thirties, I can’t eat the way I did in my 20’s. boo.

  2. Is is sad that I want to go to LA now just for this? I love a good breakfast place, and contrary to most people’s beliefs, they are far and few between in most cities. This looks delicious!

  3. Oh how funny. I just ate there for the first time last Sunday! The line was super long by the time we got there, but after eating one of those delicious sandwiches, it was all worth it. I had their sausage sandwich on the biscuit, and it was insane! So glad you posted about this place! 🙂

  4. ohhh i have so many glorious food memories of eggs – egg sandwiches for sure, which i still make plenty of, but also fried egg on rice with hoisin sauce, and buttered toast with peanut butter and hard boiled egg, which i’d chop up and mix all TOGETHER like a little weirdo! oh i wish eggslut was closer. lucky!

  5. Where I’m from (Manchester, Uk:-)) an egg sandwich is called an egg barm and is a local delicacy. Ok, we *probably* didn’t invent the egg sandwich but we are definitely egg sandwich aficionados:-) The pictures are literally making my mouth water. Guess I know what I’m eating next 🙂

  6. Yum! Everyone loves eggies right? Our mama always made scrambled eggs for us. Usually for lunch. Grandma & auntie always fixed us kids “brown eggies.” Sooo good. Big difference = browned butter! My only issue with sandwich …. that piggy. Not ever served in our homes. We are now living in a pork-crazed society. Sad.

  7. it looks delicious but maybe the name would need to be changed in the UK……. the name Eggslut may not go down so well ! maybe it’s not used in the same way in the US ? 🙂
