Oh Joy / Dressing the Bump

We're at 24 weeks, and I'm excited to share the fourth episode of my Dressing the Bump series! This week, I'm talking about swimwear—both maternity and non-maternity—and how to rock that belly at the beach, the pool, or for summer lounging. I was a little nervous to wear a swimsuit for you all in this video, but I wanted to show you how much I think that baby belly deserves to be embraced no matter what time of year!

Feel free to leave any questions or requests for future episodes in the comments below.

*Please keep in mind that all bellies are shaped and sized differently and grow at different rates. I hope you'll find these videos helpful at some stage of your pregnancy.

P.S. 20 weeks!

  1. love that caftan! It’s lovely on you. Almost makes me wish for baby 3# just so I can dress the bump (which is clearly a terrible reason to go for #3, lol)

  2. joy! what size is your kimono top. ive never ordered from asos and the chart suggests i wear a size 8. im usually a size 4 or 6 and my tops are generally a small so im conflicted. :/
love you so much. best. cute cute cute

  3. Hi Jennie!
I got the smallest size. I think with a kimono style, you can def. size down since its loose and flowy anyway.
    Hope that helps!

  4. Great episode Joy! I recently picked up these two skirts from Anthro to get me the through last 7 weeks of my pregnancy. I really didn’t want to buy something that I couldn’t wear postpartum! They have worked SO well and if they get a little two stretched out, I’ll just have a taylor take in the side seams :). xoxo, Annie

  5. I loooove that Hatch bikini… But as far as still wearing normal bikinis during pregnancy, that’s not an option. My belly isn’t big enough to fit into maternity suits (I’m literally “swimming” in them!) but my breasts are so large they make my normal suits look downright scandalous!! I’ve bought some regular tankinis which naturally have some extra fabric. I love your dress the bump series!!

  6. This Liz Lange collection for Target is lovely!
I’m in 31 week with first baby (also girl 🙂 and it is very nice to see you are pregnant again.
    Good luck 🙂

  7. Thanks Anne!
Ha, its funny how different everyones bodies grow during pregnancy. The boobs def affect whether you can wear your regular two-piece or not. Mine still fit (for now) ;P
Best of luck to you with your pregnancy!
