A blog is this weird mix of a personal journal and an online magazine. And as my work and life has transitioned and changed over the years, this blog has ebbed and flowed based on what I'm working on professionally, what I'm into personally, and what excites me in general. Sometimes those things relate to my family and role as a mom, sometimes they're about the products we've been creating, and sometimes they are beautiful and fun ideas that I simply want to share with you.
As I reach 10 years of blogging next year (I never thought I'd say that!), I'm working on figuring how this blog still fits into my point of view and what I want to share with you guys every day. I can't say I have it all mapped out all the time because the randomness of what you'll find here feels exciting to me. But I hope to use some time off for the holidays to come back to you with new enthusiasm, new creativity, and new things to see and read here. And please know, I'm always open to your feedback on what you'd want to see more of on Oh Joy in the new year (or something I used to share that you've missed!).
And finally, thank you (really, seriously, thank you) for reading this blog for however long or short you've been visiting. To be able to create things, share things, talk about things with you (and for you) has been a dream job I never knew existed but feel very lucky to have. Have an amazing holiday, and I'll see you back here in a couple weeks in 2015!

Joy, thanks for sharing pieces of your work and family life. I can’t remember exactly when I started reading, but it’s been at least 6 years. I always look forward to your posts and I so admire you as a person and businesswoman. I love the personal posts, and I hope those continue as you make plans for year 11. 🙂 Happy holidays!

Joy,
I have loved being able to see all of your creative projects grow and blossom through the years. And now I have to admit I love seeing glimpses of your L.A. world (since I lived there for many years–ah, memories!) 🙂 I honestly don’t have any suggestions of what to do differently–I appreciate your view on life and creativity! (Has it REALLY been 10 years?! Wow, time flies…)
Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and New Years!!

Oh my, your video made me cry too, and I don’t have pregnancy hormones as an excuse 🙂 Ruby is just so, so precious! And welcome baby Coco! Girls are so fun! and as the mom of two girls myself, I can say that two girls are even better then one 😉
Congratulations on your beautiful family, and on your Target collection, and on all the fabulous things you accomplished this year! You are an inspiration.
Happy Holidays!
wow 10 years! that is so amazing and inspiring 🙂
The secret to a great blog is the creative compulsion to share. When it becomes laborious and tedious it shows in the writing so doing what feels right for your next stage makes perfect sense. Keep evolving and I’ll keep reading. Your posts have tickled me kiwi green over the years. Happy Holidays lady! Can’t wait to see what 2015 brings you and yours. xo
Thanks girl. That means a lot and such wise advice!

Always enjoy reading your blog posts. The mix is just fine with me!
As long as it’s varied, comes from the heart and there’s nice colours involved, I’ll always be a fan ; ) x

Hey Joy,
Not sure if it’s just me, but I think the font size of your posts when on the main page of the blog (ohjoy.blogs.com as opposed to ohjoy.blogs.com/nameofarticle) is really small and hard to read. Once I click to read a specific blog post the text is large and incredibly easy to read, but I don’t necessarily want to click on each post and then go back to the home page, especially when I haven’t visited in a few weeks.
Even increasing the home page font 1 or 2 sizes would really make a world of difference.
Happy New Year!
Thank you for all you share, Joy! You are one talented woman. It’s always a pleasure to visit your site.
Thanks Rachael!
Do you mind emailing me a screenshot of what you see to: [email protected]?
The size of the fonts on all posts are actually all programmed to be the same size and it shows up the same size on my end but I’d like to see what you are seeing so can fix it if it’s a browser issue.
Best!
Joy
Wow 10 years, that’s amazing!! Congrats. Your blog is great 🙂

Love your blog joy! And because you asked, I used to really enjoy the blog posts where you interviewed people about their work and their home. You’d always accompany it with a beautiful photos of their favorite object in their home. It was always my favorite post. Maybe you can do something similar in 2015? Happy holidays!
Thank you Joy, for the inspiration your blog brings. Heres to 10 years and one more under the hat.

Congratulations on your 10 years of blogging! What a year you have had, so many wonderful things!
I had already seen the video of you telling Ruby about the baby and (I don’t say this often all all, or EVER) it made me cry! So sweet.
You are an inspiration, Joy! I’m sure whatever you do next will be awesome and special just like everything that preceded it!
Thanks so much Elisa! That really means a lot!

happy new year! keep up the great posts! i love your work 😉
Thank you for all. Your family is beautiful!!
So sweet! I’m a fairly new mommy blogger- I had both kids by age 27 before I knew how to enjoy motherhood & blog at the same time. Now that my kids are older, I finally have time to write again and definitely need more creative inspirations for the new year! I plan to do the same as you and continue to explore new avenues and keep doing what I love.
Happy blog birthday! Hmm..I’m thinking one of your books can help me brand my blog better. I’d love to hear more about what you can do for emerging mommy blogger/writers.
