happy friday + 3 months with coco…

Oh Joy / Monthly Baby Photo

Before having my second baby, I had serious doubts that I could love another baby as much as I loved my first. It sounds silly, I know, but I didn't think I had any more love to give. But then, Coco came into our lives with her happy and laid-back disposition, and I fell in love all over again. I seriously marvel every day at how much I love her.

Now at three months in, I feel like we're finally getting into a groove as a family of four. Ruby is no longer super jealous and loves her sister (most of the time), I'm no longer crying every day from lack of sleep and hormonal emotions. And, I no longer feel guilty for getting take-out or delivery because I just cannot make daily meals from scratch while wrangling two kids. We are finally figuring out how to just do this thing the best that we can.

Here's a look back at our last three months of Coco. Babies change so much in the first few months of life that it's fun to see how they start to look like the person they'll become…

I also shot some lying down photos this time around…

Some people like to do the same outfit and same background for their monthly baby photos, but I like to keep a couple things the same (the chair she's sitting on, the size of the number), but have her outfit and the background blanket change every month. She has too many cute outfits that she outgrows so fast that it's nice to get to remember them from these photos.

Big sister always makes a cameo. Ruby likes to pretend to take the monthly photos of Coco with her toy camera and then she can't help but get in there, too.

And because I love seeing how everyone does their monthly photos, I've added a few of my favorites on my Oh Baby board right here for some inspiration!

  1. Amazing how much they change in those first few months. Thank you for sharing, and for being honest about how rough those first months can be.

  2. Happy 3 months to Coco! She is simply adorable. It looks like she’s always moving her arms in every picture. Ruby is so cute. Love the expressions she makes.

  3. HI Jaizy,
It was a blanket that was custom sewn using Nani Iro fabric. You can find some sellers on Etsy who sell the brand of fabric!
    Best!

  4. Three months already… I’m glad you’re starting to feel better my dear AND that you’re being kind to yourself. Delivery services are a blessing. You’re stimulating the economy AND your time with your family ♥

  5. So much cuteness going on!! As a parent to one six month old, I see those more with than one kid and think they are super heroes. You are awesome.

  6. Thank you for being honest about the daily crying over what you can’t accomplish! I’m a FTM and have been struggling (my son is 7 weeks) to accept that I can’t do it all like I used to. Refreshing to hear that you too (despite all appearances!) feel the same. Xo

  7. She’s so lovely, and she’s changed so much in three months! I’m excited to hear about how Coco and Ruby’s relationships develop as they grow older.

  8. Ruby looks like such a funny kid. Her cameo reminds me of the photos of me and when my little brother was born–I was super jealous but hammed it up if there was a camera around.
Why does it always feel like the second child is way more chill?

  9. Haha, totally! I think the 2nd kids are born having to share the attention and to parents who already know what to do with a baby, so everyone is less on edge ;P

  10. So cute! Coco looks like a little doll!
I remember having those same feelings before having my second. Now that I’m pregnant with my fifth, I’m so excited knowing I have a chance to fall head-over-heels in love again!! 🙂

  11. Oh my God, it’s so cute that Ruby looks so much like you and Coco so much like your husband. I know that people are always trying to find resemblances but i seriously mean it. What a beautiful couple and what a beautiful family!

  12. Love the sisters pictures at the end! Thanks for sharing 🙂
After my 3rd baby turned 7 months last week, I think I’ve finally come to terms that it is really okay to not make homemade meals as often as before. I sometimes felt guilty because it is so much more expensive to eat out…but I am much less stressful that way and I think that makes everyone in the family happy 😉 I recently started produce delivery from a local farm nearby us, and that has been so helpful!
