dressing the babe / winter pop…

Dressing the Babe / Mama and Me Style

Winter in Los Angeles is anti-climatic for sure. While the rest of the country (and other parts of the world) get to enjoy the brisk cold, we're lucky if we get to pop on a hat and scarf for a couple hours a day. With dark blue and faux fur as my wintry base, here's my version of an L.A. winter with a flash of color that you just can't miss.

I pulled out my favorite skirt from when I was pregnant, and used it as the inspiration for both of our outfits. You can see all the outfit details below…

  1. Love the neon pink! But I must say that I giggled a bit seeing Ruby’s bare arms as winter wear (it’s 20 degrees in Ohio right now!). I’m just jealous of your California living. 🙂

  2. so fun. i bought a faux fur vest for my daughter because they look so cute on toddlers except she refused to wear it! but we do like neon pink a lot 🙂

  3. Hi Joy,
I love your skirt! I’m pregnant now and will be due in the middle of summer and would love to find a piece like that. When you’re choosing a size from a non-maternity item to wear while you’re pregnant did you size up on the skirt? Also, did the skirt come with that adorable bow? Love your style!

  4. So cute and fun – I love the pink!! I’m def not enjoying the brisk cold here in NYC, but i’m contemplating a bright puffy jacket. I’m so tired of dressing like a garbage bag.

  5. Lovely! That’s a great pink color! I adore dressing my daughter in outfits that are similar to mine without being over the top matchy matchy.

  6. Do you mind if I inquire about the size skirt you chose and how tall you are? I’m hoping to find this one on ebay!

  7. Hi Becky!
I normally wear a size XS or S, but I got the skirt when they were mostly sold out and only had a M left. It has a tie around the waist, so that helps it fit okay. But I would have gotten a smaller size if it was available. I am 5’3” and have to wear it higher on the waist so the length fits.
    Best!
    Joy
