Oh Joy Petal Pusher Wallpaper / at Hygge and West

Five years ago when I launched this little collection of wallpaper, I had no idea that some of it would still be around now. Some designs come and go and are meant to have a short shelf life. But one of the first patterns I designed for my own company—Petal Pusher—has become a classic Oh Joy pattern and our best seller in the wallpaper category. We recently refreshed it with a few new color ways like blush and gold (so dreamy) and a more subtle whisper-like pearl (shown above).

And, it's also now available in a few of the classic colors at Anthropologie! Here's a look (below) at all the ways people have been designing their homes with the wallpaper…

Finally, a couple rooms designed by Emily Henderson include the dark grey version Petal Pusher behind an open bookshelf…

…and the classic cream and gold version used wall-to-wall in my own living room! My life was so different five years ago when I first drew this pattern. So when I see it around the web, it's this crazy-cool flashback of a time in my life that lives on in people's homes forever.

P.S. I love seeing these photos, so if you have our wallpaper, please share by tagging your photos on Instagram with #ohjoywallpaper.

  1. I didn’t realize this was a wallpaper designed by you, Joy! I love it, every time I see it, in every colorway, and I want it in my house somewhere. Congratulations on designing a pattern that continues to be beloved after 5 years (and likely many more).

  2. So crazy that means I’ve been reading your blog for at least 5 years! The gold foil version just kills me.
Isn’t it moments like these that make being an artist so worth it?

  3. I love seeing it in all these different homes! It’s such a bold pattern, but feels so diverse when you see it in all these different settings! I think the gold on white will always be my favorite, bu the white on white is pretty slick too!

  4. Thank you!
I just created it. I didn’t intend for it to be classic or not. It was just a pattern that I drew at the time and loved as a wallpaper design 😉
    Joy
