You guys know I love a good art wall (hence the one in my studio that is my favorite wall to look at EVER). But one thing I've always want to hang (somehow) are the cool vintage pieces that I find at flea markets—you know, those beautiful printed scarves or that random bejeweled purse that you love but probably won't wear because you don't want to ruin the scarf with baby spit-up or the beads of the purse would fall off everywhere after being used once. They are pieces I want to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of, but aren't always practical to use.

So I've team up with my friends over at Simply Framed to help me show you how you can have vintage pieces framed and turn those beauties you've been eyeing into hangable wall art. I am guilty of having so many small prints that need framing, so I love that you can just send things to them, and they take care of it and send them back to you framed and ready to be hung. I had a few vintage things I had been collecting I thought could be a part of this great vintage art wall, but needed to add a few more pieces so I went on a hunt for some cool pieces to see what else we could frame…

First, I stopped into a vintage clothing store and found these matchbooks among the clothing racks. I thought that a bunch of vintage matchbooks would be a cool thing to frame if I had maybe 9 or 12 of them all together to tile them together into one big piece. But since I didn't have quite enough for my vision, I moved on…

I found these fun heart-shaped sunglasses which were fun to try on, but not right for framing…

So, I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market in search of more vintage goodness. Guess who I ran into there? Of course, my buds Emily and Orlando were there scouring for the interiors they're constantly decorating. And even through the cold and rain that day, I came back with these beauties…

I found color, texture, and lots of wearable accessories. As per my usual picks from flea markets, I was drawn to a ton of scarves in beautiful colors and patterns and some jewelry. Some pieces work better than others for framing so we chatted with the folks at Simply Framed to see what would work in reality to frame. They suggested vintage scarves could be tacked and matted and pieces like the beaded Obi would work, too.

So after going through my vintage collection and finding a few more, here are the pieces that I decided to try and frame—it's a mix of vintage scarves and vintage jewelry mixed in with some prints (both new and vintage ones I've been collecting).

We sent all the pieces over to Simply Framed and discussed my favorite frame colors. I decided on a mix of white, gold, and silver frames and wanted 6-8 of these pieces framed to create a vintage art wall.
